We saw the ship tonnage at the end... but not the marine life tonnage. 😢🐋 I loved the starting disadvantage in this episode. A great end to a great series!
On Russian subs somebody can literally haul an IGLA up the tower, so I imagine that you could also have a Javelin ready to shoot at any foolish subs or PT boats.
@mcribenthusiast7010 true, but I'm pretty sure he said those missiles have a minimum range, and the sub was closer than that. But a gun does Not have a minimum range. Plus broadsideing another vessel is always fun
I love the idea of a DD damageing one so its forced to surface, they prep the gun and suddenly theres a dude in the tower blasting off Metis ATGMs at them @TheSquidPro
Give this Seawolf's CO a Medal of Honor. A total tonnage of 431,410 of ships sunk! For reference, during WW2, USS Tang (SS-306) achieved around 115,000 tonnages which of the most successful sub during the war.
Congratulations on getting over 100k merchant tonnage I’m sure any uboat captain would be impressed, this was an incredible series I can’t wait until the next
I love your narrating, these are great videos. As for the mission as depicted in game though, I think every hunter/killer sub in the fleet would be running in to take care of the sub and its escort.
You, Sir, with the way you narrate this brings one to the edge of your SEAT! Absolutely love this! Thanks @Wolfpack345 for yet another exciting series. Looking forward to the next one!!
For this mission I always wait just past the island chain, so I have as much depth to work with. You have my respect for doing it in much shallower water!
I just wanted to say that the effort you put into this series and whole story you do around a quite simple game overall is damn impressive and could easily battle with tv series. Thank you for delivering me nice things to watch for each weekend.
This channel got me into submarines with the SH3 Mediterranean series. I finally went and bought myself a Ming Class Sub. kit. Can't wait to make it :) And as always, another great and engaging video 👍
Thank you, Wolfpack345! This was so much fun to watch! I eagerly anticipated every episode😊. Props for doing this in shape waters with minimal armament as you usually have enough time to go to Guam, get refitted and engage it deep waters.
I got to this episode/mission, and as the USS Columbus (SSN-762, LA Flight III I believe), I managed to sink the Xia-class SSBN as well... until the Yasen tore me apart because there practically is no wiggle room when the floor is 131 ft. Dodged 2, ate 3. Welp. A submarine first launched in 2010 and commissioned in 2014 time travelled to November 2000 to tear me, a sub design from the early 80s, apart. Wonderful.
You've singlehandedly disposed of PLAN & Russian Navy! We believe a Navy "E" Ribbon is well earned!😉 Also, congratulation for not damaging USS Seawolf too much, and a moderate waste of ordinance...🤝
Great series. I hope that Cold Waters DotMod will return to this channel, it's certainly my favorite series here and the South China Sea campaign was a real treat because I'm also a huge fan of the more modern boats rather than the rust buckets.
Excellent work on the whole project. I've taken a few shots with Harpoons and TASMs at surfaced submarines, and at least in vanilla Cold Waters, they just splash down. Never had any successful hits. One thing I really wish the game included, is a fully detailed omniscient replay mode, so one could go back and analyze engagements, or at least relive those interesting or amusing moments. Many times, especially in the 1984 campaign, you're evading Udaloys and can't hear anything, and it would have been nice to see what exactly had been happening while your head was down and you were running for your life.
I played this mission once...the mission I played beforehand left me badly damaged and hardly any ammo left but I decided to just give it a whirl anyways. So I slow down to 5kts and start listening in..and from out of nowhere, the SSBN just appears right on the nose like 300 yards out. Had no idea I was there; the Akula's were off somewhere else, but this SSBN is just passing me stem to stern. I slow down to 0, ultra quiet and let him pass. While it was passing, I spin the sub around 180 and wait for him to get about 300 yards distance before I shoot. It didnt have a chance. Shot the torp active from the tubes. Straight down the propeller shaft, instant kill, and the fact that the other attack subs had no direction for transients in the water, to them it was as if the sub just....blew up. They didnt even try to look for me near the SSBN, they just peeled off and pinging the opposite direction of where I was. Was a very long creep out of the area since I kept it whisper quiet and at 5kts the whole way...think I had like 3 shots left. That was a FUUUUUN mission.
More submarine content! I would love to see you use either the Ohio class sub or the George Washington class sub, utilize the VLS, and hit some coastal targets!
Hmm - tricky! Three Akula Class Torpedoes and not much depth to play with. During your WW2 Misadventures the submarine tech was decidedly more archaic. But this isn't going to be easy. Three submarine escorts and this Missile Sub !
The funny thing is is that I think the sea wolf is the second best sub in this campaign after playing just due to the fact you get a ton of task force missions and the vls on the las makes it the best for convoy raids
Was trying to decide if i ahould get this game. Found this series. Watched all of it, and for the life of me i cant decide if the AI is inept, if Wolfpack is exceptionally good, or if the seawolf is just OP as hell 🤣
Since that last Akula couldn't launch due to flooding, and was stuck on the surface, I would've surfaced behind her, THEN fired. Victory is already assured, no shame in letting your enemy finally see the instrument of their destruction.
Why so surprised? Thirty years ago (yes, I am old), while playing original Red Storm Rising on Amiga 500, I managed to take down a Typhoon with only one Mark 48. And yes, that failure to launch ballistic missiles from Typhoon meant Soviet Union capitulated and the campaign was over. I am amazed to see how accurate version this is of the old Red Storm Rising.
@@bigpoppa1234 It still should not have surprised him Xia could not soak even one torpedo because Xia and Typhoon are totally different sized animals. Xia class = displacement 8,000 tonnes (submerged) Typhoon class = 48,000 t (47,240 long tons) submerged
Oh man I got goosebumps. Pour one out for all those poor chinese and russian sailors, they fought valiantly, but they were no match for Billy and his men and officers.
Here's to hoping that if an actual war of this kind were to ever break out, US submarines at least do half as good as you did in this campaign! Good series, you made this look too easy!
I love his narrative, giving the game a bit more of a story feel
He's great at that!
We're all here for it. ^^
We saw the ship tonnage at the end... but not the marine life tonnage. 😢🐋

RIP whale. Sunk by a PLAN torpedo
@@megainuyasha2005all my homies hate this PLAN for that one
@@megainuyasha2005 If you are a biologic you don't get sunk you get reincarnated.
When that Akula was running on the surface all I could think was "hit them with the deck gun!" Unfortunately that concept has long since been retired.
On Russian subs somebody can literally haul an IGLA up the tower, so I imagine that you could also have a Javelin ready to shoot at any foolish subs or PT boats.
You can hit them with harpoons or TASMs in the game.

Most successful American submarine. There were others with more.
Loved the "Anchors Aweigh" at the end!
where is that rendition from? is that from the Cold Waters soundtrack?
I liked how eager you were to want to use Harpoons on them. :)
Young man I’m 53 and have greatly enjoyed your videos and keep up the great work.
This Seawolf campaign is by far my favorite content on YT! Thanks for all these amazing vids!
One of your best campaigns, up there with Yuri's escapades in IL-2 or the Dutch East Indies. Amazing work.
I love the scrolling text. Reminds me of JAG. This was a fantastic series Wolfpack. Incredibly entertaining. Great work.
Loved the fact that it played anchors away. Served in the Navy so that song means alot to me.

Totally agree!!! Wolfie's narrative is the BOMB!!
Loved this series. The Seawolf is so fun to play.
Great series! Your narrative really drives the enjoyment. I enjoy you playing Cold Waters far more than playing it myself.
man wolfpack you are just giving us tons of content recently! thanks!

One of my favorite series on your channel! Sad to see it ending.
