We collect plasma through two processes: We separate plasma from a whole blood donation after you donate. The plasma we collect in this way is called “recovered plasma.” We also collect plasma through a process called apheresis. I’ve tried to do a little research but I haven’t seen anything and I know I’m not tripping this wouldn’t be the first time it’s happens d the nurse said it’s unrelated but it only happens after I donate I just wanted to see if anyone experienced this as well
Hello Susan, The process for donating source plasma is simple. Before donating plasma, you will complete a similar screening process as for whole-blood donors. Your blood will be drawn through a needle in your arm. The blood will pass through a centrifuge that separates your plasma. Then, it returns the rest of your blood to you through the same needle. Plan for about 75 minutes to complete your plasma donation. You can learn more about donating plasma on our website: ow.ly/L0fu30ooPnm. Thank you for being part of Canada’s Lifeline! - SK

Hello Frank, We have always collected plasma which we ship to fractionators who manufacture it on our behalf into plasma protein products for use exclusively in Canada. Once manufactured, these medications are licensed by Health Canada as biological drugs and returned to Canadian Blood Services for shipping to the hospitals and clinics we serve. The agreement ensures plasma collected in Canada is made into immunoglobulins in Canada for patients here - an approach aimed at reducing Canada’s reliance on the global market in the long term. Specifically, the agreement ensures none of the plasma collected in Canada or the immunoglobulins manufactured from that plasma by Grifols can be sold or shipped offshore. As is the practice today, this agreement is premised on Canadian Blood Services procuring finished immunoglobulins, in this case made specifically from domestically collected plasma. We will not be purchasing raw plasma. -MB

In what city?
I donated and it hurt so bad lmao. But only towards the end and it was probably because of the weird position of my arm

If you have donated whole blood recently are you eligible to donate plasma or must you wait a certain time period in order to donate plasma if you had only donated whole blood.
Hello Boder,
We recommend you choose just one type of donation to make regularly. Women may book a blood donation appointment 84 days after their last plasma donation. For men, the waiting period for giving blood after donating plasma is 56 days. You can learn more about donating plasma on our website: ow.ly/L0fu30ooPnm

**QUESTION FOR WOMEN ONLY**
Have you ever donated plasma and started your cycle early ? I’ve tried to do a little research but I haven’t seen anything and I know I’m not tripping this wouldn’t be the first time it’s happens d the nurse said it’s unrelated but it only happens after I donate I just wanted to see if anyone experienced this as well
I'm very healthy , 62 over weight though, can I donate my plasma?
Hello Susan,
The process for donating source plasma is simple.

@@18882DONATE do you make money from donating the plasma, do you sell it to the hospital? If your making money you then must compensate, your guys are having low supply post covid.
@@goodone5590 of course they are making money lol. That’s why in America they have to pay you. They make over 1000$ per donation. They should be giving you ATLEAST 350. They are taking your time and body fluids they least they can do is cut you 25% of the profits. These plasma places are not part of the hospital they just sell the plasma to them
Hahaha he looks terrifed
I wonder if people who suffer from thyroid gland can be donors of plasma.

You are not helping anyone but the company that re- sells your plasma for an exorbitant price !
Hello Frank,
We have always collected plasma which we ship to fractionators who manufacture it on our behalf into plasma protein products for use exclusively in Canada.

Heck no! No machine will be whipping my blood and then putting it back into me
Let's hope you never for any reason need a blood transfusion
@@BongoBrando thank you
The greatest part about plasma donation is that it’s voluntary
