Avios has designed a beautiful twin-engine Albatross HU-16 flying boat. What could be better than a large monohull flying boat gracing the skies or taxing across a lake? This excellent plane is made of strong EPO foam and comes with scale plastic fittings for an extremely realistic look. It is painted in a US Navy rescue scheme of seagull gray, yellow and white for easy visibility under all conditions.
The Albatross HU-16 came into service with the United States Air Force in 1949 and was primarily designed as an amphibious plane for search and rescue missions. It was extensively used for combat search and rescue in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. As an amphibian, it could land on both land and open sea and was optimized for 4-foot (1.2m) seas but could land in heavier seas.
The Albatross is well powered by twin Aerostar 3536-850KV motors with scale 3-blade 10x6 propellers. The 30A reversing ESCs make it easier to navigate around the water. The addition of a water rudder makes maneuvering on water even easier. The built-in flaps provide plenty of lift and make landings and takeoffs look easy. The Albatross provides a great presence in the air that will look outstanding at any time and can easily do scale passes that all enthusiasts enjoy.

It’s already Saturday morning in Slovenia, but that was a excellent re-maiden flight with that sexy plane, Captain Robert. Your fans around the world are waiting for Captain Blaz to try and fly it again also. Captain Blaz should bring a Karlovacko (or 2) to the river to enjoy after his flight!

Good flight. You guys can make anything fly. As for the previous crash, that is just part of flying. Along with the comments on the wind and CG, it seemed as though something wasn't working with the radio system at the beginning. Maybe a loose connection. This could also have affected the flight. It has happened to us more than once. You never know. Fate is the hunter. If you never crash, you will never fly. We have all done it and will do it again. You are always enjoyable. I look forward to seeing Captain Blaz fly again. He is a good pilot and I know he will do well. Remember, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. Salute from Montana.

Redemption flight. Thanks for the info. I crashed my Albatross just Monday on its 1st flight due to CG by manual. I will now use 80cm this Monday again and get my redemption flight.

Fear not Captain Blosch! The wind was too strong to be flying that plane. Scale flying is realistic and flying in bad conditions is a killer. I salute you that you check your CG or as you say it, G Spot, on all your planes. If nothing else gets said, CG check can never be said enough. Most critical!

Guys that was beautiful,I watched the flight 3 times it looked like a movie with the golden sun and the clear water it just looked stunning you did a perfect video,congratulations on the remaiden. Captain Blatz you were just screwed on your flight with the bad cg and the wind you never stood a chance please don't get down on yourself shit happens.
Nicely done. Capt. Blaz was dealing with different wind conditions yesterday and his pranging the plane was unfortunate. Don't give up! I crewed on and maintained these in the US Coast Guard. Fun to fly but bloody loud!

Once you get a plane up in the air (easiest thing to do), you begin to land it (the hardest thing to do) by making touch n go's or near approaches...For real fun, try dead stick landings. We used to just let our four strokes run out of nitro...that was our timer! Oh, Yeah!
