If you want to avoid the folded-up-robot space ship altmodes, just look to the various SHMUPs games like the Vic Viper (Gradius), D-711B Axelay (Axelay), and the Silverhawk (Darius). There's also some that let you cheat this a bit like the R-9A Arrowhead (R-Type), the RVR-01 (Thunderforce), and the titular Ikaruga.

I wish you could make my own transformer called deadhead and he is a decepticon and he becomes a long nosed semi truck and he has no trailer. The legs are from the back of the truck and the arms come from the nose of the truck and he has smokestacks on his shoulders and his front 2 wheels are on the arms and the back wheels on the legs and the glass in the from forms the chest in the robot form and he is gray and his style is g1
