- Bare knuckle boxing is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and USA. No boxing gloves are used. Critics consider the sport violent and barbaric. In some states of the USA, bare knuckle boxing, now run by BKFC, is still illegal.
This documentary follows up-and-coming bare knuckle fighter Tyler Goodjohn from the UK. A very successful gloved boxer, he moved into bare knuckle boxing after being banned from gloved boxing by the British Board of Boxing Control.
So far, undefeated in bare knuckle fighting, this documentary follows Tyler Goodjohn’s attempt to win the World BKB Featherlight bare knuckle boxing championship against proven winner Sean George.
Tyler Goodjohn’s obsession and dedication are unparalleled. But the fall out for his family and girlfriend, the adult film performer Alessa Savage, are considerable.

Man this guy doesn’t have it easy, as much as he loves his girlfriend she seems like a child in how she acts, craves attention and a big drain on his energy and goals in life. And his mum wants to wrap his in cotton wool but he is a 27 year old man who beat people up for a living and wants to be the best, every sport has its sacrifices and sometimes your health is one of them if you want to win bad enough.

preparing mentally for a fight is stressful enough with you bloody partner doing that. I genuinely felt really bad for him. move out for 2 weeks before a fight and turn your phone off

Johnny is a lion. And he’s got a great mum and surprisingly supportive woman.
This did a great job any showing the relationship dynamic and the struggles that come along with it. At first I thought, this is why most coaches don’t approve of bringing your significant other to camp. “Emotions are fucking draining”, enough said. The fight camp was (or seemed) self driven and was minimal in regards to monetary expenses in comparison to a top mma contender. In other words, much less luxurious so to speak. Which of its self, speaks volumes about Johnny’s drive to compete and be at the top. Fucking well done @GetPulped

Gloves are only there to protect the knuckles lol, they do fuck all in regards to the power hitting your head, it’s why the amateurs got rid of head gear,
