» Proof Bread is a modern throwback to a way of life that values small-scale craftsmanship, local community, and creativity. We are a small group of passionate bakers working in our garage (thanks to cottage laws) which has been converted into a micro-bakery. Everything we bake is made by hand, from the best local ingredients, with no short cuts.

Thank you for doing this it is a very interesting and informative video. Great to see you taking this on for Jon & Amanda while they are away. Great job!
Thank you for a delightful break.
Super interesting episode!!!
Refreshing to see such a non-baking yet natural/organic topic.
Q: Which USA state + what season?
Q: How were these mushrooms consumed/cooked?
Q: Did any mushrooms end up in a bread?
Thanks
Maybe a dumb question but how do you actually clean them.
i scrape with a small serrated knife under running water to get all the dirt off
How very interesting! Thank you.
What do they taste like? How do you cook them?
👍👍👍👍👍
These are saffron milk caps.
No these are Hypomyces lactifluorum. I got over 20lbs last week.
No, they are not!
😬 yikes!
Cool, where is this at?
@@joe8133 never have.
lol.. it's in the pines is all that you really need to know.. asking for the exact locatio i's like asking a trout fisherman where his favourite holes are... you can ask, but don't expect a straight forward answer. lol
Virginia, that's like telling someone where you buried the loot... 😬 yikes!
@@jamessexton6 lol
Please, be thankful to nature, and cut mushrooms, so the root will stay in ground, and next time you’ll get mushrooms again…
It doesn't matter if you cut it or not the spores live in the soil
Fred seems to be an expert in the field, so I don't think he'd rip mushrooms out if he thought it was harmful to their growth or nature.
You’re right. Fred is a special human. We are thankful to know him. He was a chef for 30 years and now has a homestead farm where he grows all kinds of fruit trees and veggies. From my understanding the majority of a mushroom is underground.
@@rachelhunting you mean mycelium, getting with the roots is traumatic for it.. spores are on mushrooms at the most of time…
