  • Keeping my night currency up - 3 takeoffs and landings to a full stop.
    Flying at night is such a different experience. You can’t always use familiar landmarks or visual cues.
    Oh, and commercial jets are approaching to land at LAX a couple miles to my right.

    First nighttime video I've seen of the A5. Beautiful.

    How much do they cost? And do you have to have a pilots license?

      $389,000, and you can fly them with a sports pilot license, but the sport pilot license has limitations

      @@saguviper: sorry, there is no such thing as a pilot license. Check, and you will see it is a "certificate".

    Does the A5 have a stowage compartment, for say...SCUBA Gear?

      There's a baggage area behind the two seats that can fit a fair amount of gear. I carried everything I needed for a 2 month trip around the United States. The weight limit for that area is 60 pounds. It might be possible to fit some scuba gear back there, depending on how bulky it is.

    What the flying range of one of theses fully topped off?

    • @pilotmasher
      @pilotmasher  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Official range is 427 nautical miles with a 45 minute reserve. Check out ICON's website for all the stats: www.iconaircraft.com/a5#specifications

      Is the 45 minute reserve fuel for after the 420nm or does this 45 mins of flying time cut into the range mentioned?

    I see your flying at night. I thought you couldn’t because it is a light sport?

      Good question. The A5 is certified for night flight. A Light Sport pilot license DOES restrict night flight, but I have a Private pilot certificate so I am OK to fly the A5 at night.

      Did you also get the night lighting package for the A5?

    The ol "Tijuana 2 Step" with just over 100 made @ $400k bout 3 T2S came down with 1000's order and no delivery. How come all the pilots have such a hard time keeping the T2S straight on the runway? wind? with parachute and you get a license from hot chicks in a cpl wks what could go wrong?
