At least in my experience "Tempo" is less and less used for "Taschentuch". It was more popular in the past somehow. Zewa is also not that common. People around me and myself call it Küchentuch. For Tesa I just say "Klebestreifen". Pritt is not so often used. When I need that, I just say "Leim" or "Kleber". What's really really established is "Imbus"-(Schlüssel). The acronym Inbus stands for "Innensechskant Bauer und Schaurte". In contrast, the spelling or pronunciation "Imbus", which was created by assimilation, is widespread but wrong.

The word is "prägnant" emphasized on the 2nd syllable -nant. This word is usually spoken by high qualified people like lawyers or doctors. Average people hardly use it. It will lift your image when you use it now and then.

"Tempo" the meaning has changed. Tempo used to be a tricycle truck manufacturer. Later there were also 4-wheel transporters. Then the company was taken over by Hanomag and then Mercedes and the van was built until 1977.
Likewise the brand "Handy". First used for a handy flashlight, today it is used for mobile phones.

@@buciallstar yes, German. The VISA card was accepted everywhere EC was accepted in the last 3 years, at least. Every gas station, supermarket, heating oil delivery, any retailer. And I am even living in the countryside.
Also, this card has been accepted everywhere in Italy, France, Netherlands, on the Canary Islands, Arab Emirates, Quatar, Phillipines, Thailand (THERE is a caveat as they charge on the ATM), ...
@@buciallstar Yes, I also know some of these shops. And it gets more difficult. In Austria the "pure" EC cards are disappearing. Instead we have debit cards with credit card functionality without "maestro". In Denmark I could have payed without fee with a real EC, but with my new pseudo EC there was a fee.

As the owner, he has to pay fees. These are higher for disagio cards (Mastercard/Visa) than for EC and debit cards

Do North Americans still use the phrase "to Xerox sth"? It's been a long time since I've heard anybody saying this. Germans call it "Fotokopie" or "fotokopieren".
I haven't heard that phrase used here (U.S.) in a very long time (photocopy or copy is used mostly). I remember something about the company not wanting people using their trademark as a verb though.

At least in my experience "Tempo" is less and less used for "Taschentuch". It was more popular in the past somehow. Zewa is also not that common. People around me and myself call it Küchentuch. For Tesa I just say "Klebestreifen". Pritt is not so often used. When I need that, I just say "Leim" or "Kleber".
What's really really established is "Imbus"-(Schlüssel). The acronym Inbus stands for "Innensechskant Bauer und Schaurte". In contrast, the spelling or pronunciation "Imbus", which was created by assimilation, is widespread but wrong.
