I seen a airboat just like that on the 60s T.V. series Gentle Ben driven by fish and game warden (Dennis Weaver) Tom Wedloe.👍👍

Once upon a time there was a giant lake so large that it was mistaken for the ocean. Now there is a giant San Andrés fault line but there is no lake.

There will always be a drought in California unless they allow the lake to return. California used to have a monsoon season and it was the strongest in the west. Tulare and it's surrounding wetlands and lakes evaporated massive amounts of water every summer. This moisture combined with the moisture from the coast which caused afternoon thunderstorms to form over the mountains and drift into the valleys. The central valley used to be completely forested and now it desert.
Beavers were the other contributor to surface water moisture. Beavers stored so much water before they were hunted into near extinction that water covered 10% of the western US. Beavers provide habitat for all other wildlife and were the single most important animal in the western US.
Farming in the central valley is unsustainable they will eventually pump the ground dry and California will collapse as a state. The US and Cali need's to buy back land from the lake bed so farming can become sustainable or they can wait til no one can farm there. Because eventually they will make ban farming to protect the water for the cities it's just a matter of time.
