- How did Søren Kierkegaard influence Cormac McCarthy and the end scenes of Blood Meridian where Judge Holden and The Kid interact? Well, today we will be looking at McCarthy's notes from the Cormac McCarthy archive that detail how Kierkagaard's parables built the framework for the Fort Griffin encounter. Through Kierkegaard, we will gain some clarity on what actually happens at the end of Blood Meridian!

A funny saying I've heard about imitation: If you only copy from one person it's called plagiarism, but if you copy from everyone it's called research!

Well said. As an aside, I think if they had made Blood Meridian into a movie, Val Kilmer would have been the perfect Judge Holden. You see echoes of Holden in Kilmer's portrayal of Doc Holliday in the movie Tombstone. I urge people to look it up.
I believe kierkegaard’s influence on camus is understated
Kierkegaard is in many ways the first existentialist/ absurdist - him and Heidegger would both eschew the label but both are unescapable in those traditions
Love your enthusiasm and the authors you cover. Keep ‘em comin buddy
That was good Danish pronunciation.
Anyone else that was raised Mormon think that Soren’s picture was Joseph Smith for a second?
