Grew up on a farm. The 42095 suffers from the same issues some tractors have with something called power hop. Some power is “wasted” generating lift in the front, rather than forward motion. Also makes a big difference on a tracked vehicle since far less track is in contact with the road in wheelie mode. The wheelie mode looks fun, but if you’re after raw performance, compensate the way tractors do - with additional weights on the front end. I don’t recommend cast iron tractor weights, though.
I suppose it depends on what application you would prefer to have a tracked vehicle in. If you wanted a rugged off-road vehicle, 42065 would be your go-to. But if it's a race you're after, 42095 would be your best option. But at the end of the day one thing stays true... I really need to get one of these lol
Just rewatched this today with the girls... they each now have these sets. My 10 year old built 42065 just after it came out and my 8 year old just finished 42095. No help from the old man :). Races and challenges start next week! What they don’t know is I secretly picked up the Batman RC 76112 car so a 3rd participant may show up out of the blue. Fun Dad/daughters time. Keep up the great work!
i think if you could put large motors in 42065, it would be a landslide win. The tracks have more surface contact and they don't lose contact on takeoff (no wheelies), they just need more power The added weight of the larger motors (while it may be minimal), is still a plus.
Im planning to improve my 42095's offroad performance by moving the rear wheels furter BACK, increasing surface area and improving balance. And add rubber knobs to the tracks. My first lego technic set at age 32. This stuff might be addictive. Planning to test it in snow too. Going to wrap the motor in cling-film first.
I believe lego puts much emphasis on the wheelie performance of 42095. If it is the B model, I think 065 might get smoked. You can notice that in the push, offroading and climbing part, either the wheel bar got stuck or in the case of pushing, it simply got lifted.
@@searme Excellent... My 7 year old daughter was asking for another 'hamster guy' video but I suggested we wait to see if you had something up your sleeve for Christmas!

Just one question about the 42095, in a previous video you told us than IR receiver V1 is not supposed to be connect to 2 PF L motor, it need a V2. So Lego doesn't listen you ?
@@searme hello, I have the space shuttle 8480. If you want to review it, send me a message. (the idea is to let it to you for a moment, like this you can also play with it)
The 42095 would probably be better in every single way to the 42065 (apart from the hamster space) if Lego didnt put that pointless "wheelie" thing that limits the performance of the car by a lot. Also, those rubber pieces would have been awsome in a set like that! :)
New one has bigger motors for the same price, many differences here are just due to the different weight balancing (b model of the blue would be a better comparison imho)
42065 has a better design, I think, but the 42095 has a better power-plant. So, I probavly would buy the 42095 but build "B" model instead, which is quite similar to 42065´s design
I like 42065 better as it is better at going off road and it is the LEGO set I have. I widened the body and put two more pf m motors in it so it has a total of 4pf m motors. I also added the small black pins and the blue pins with the axel on them to the tracks for more grip. It goes pretty well but would be better with L motors Love your videos Sariel
I would say that 42095 is better because if you get a better remote (where you can control the speed so it isnt on/off) it would be a lot better then it was in terain and so.

It's weird for a 'RIPSAW' (New word used you got a new achievement !). I personally and honestly prefer the Green one, the 42065, much lower, much.... longer ? and the tracks have more the shape of a tracked racer. I mean both of their color schemes look cool but... for me it's not 4:4 but ∞:4. (I got the 42065 btw and if you add rubber pieces on the tracks + other motors / Buwizz TRUST ME It goes everywhere xD)
build the b-model of the 42095 an switch wheels from front to back, the big ones to the front with direct traction on the L Motors, and you will see the Difference. 42095 is way stronger and faster. just the a-model geometry is lame.

That's why it's sometimes easier for heavy vehicles

The B-Model of the 42095 has some advantages. Especially the lower center of gravity because the battery pack is not as high as in the A-Model

I'm more for ofroad than speed, so I like 42065 more
Hold on! The 42095 B-Modell is exactly the same contruction and power as 42065. And you get also the L-Motors intead of the M-Motors.
I have put hotglue dots on the tracks of the 42065 for more friction, and it works well
You know there are some Rubber parts made for these Tracks to increase traction? No need for glue, thats disgusting man, dont glue LEGOs pls
What about 42095 B?
Haven't built that one yet. It's probably like 42065, only faster.
is there even an instruction online? i dont see something on the lego website
