      I’ve know of them since elementary school and I truly believe that their music has helped me not to be so dark and to grow up on a better perspective, I don’t know how I would be if I hadn’t known them. I believe I would have a lot more problems with depression and anxiety even suicide without their lyrics guiding me through some rough stuff of my teenage years. And that’s why I always recommended them to people to try and help them too but it didn’t stick like it did with me but I’m glad. Now I’m almost out of college and I’m proud of who I’ve become and I still thank the moment I know about them. 😌💕

      I know, right? Maybe it's just us projecting onto them or maybe we're all in the same train, going through the same things, but ever since I got into Paramore (and I admit I got into them a little late, right around the time Zac and Josh left) I feel like we're growing up at the same time and their music tells me what I need to hear at that stage of my life. I get my life lessons from the lyrics Hayley writes! I'm feeling the same thing happening now, with Simmer and Leave it Alone.

    Honestly the fact that after laughter had such sad and depressing lyrics with an upbeat tone made me love it even more. It kind of mirrors the feeling you have when you’re depressed and want to show everyone that you’re okay but deep down you’re going through a lot. People who aren’t paying attention or can’t relate to the feeling don’t realize what you’re going through but if they’re really listening and paying attention they know. I’m not sure if I explained that very well but I’m sure someone knows what I mean.

      We find it so strange that shes so humble and genuine cause it's so freaking rare. Its crazy. And like you said, people and fans cross boundaries for these artists that make them not wanna be so warm and open to their fans. So in reality we cant put all the blame on these artists for being cold or distant with their fans, but at the same time, those who take their fame and fans for granted do need to be held accountable. From a wider lens, its all subjective.

    Zane Lowe you've done it again. Idk what It is about you interviewing Paramore/Hayley that makes me love them as people and as artists even more than I thought I could. These interviews and their music always come at a perfect time in my life that makes me think and take look inside myself. Hayley thank you for being so open. I wish I could expound on that thank you but there's a lot of feelings in that. Thank you for talking about therapy so openly. I'm going through the process of contacting a therapist myself, because there are things in my life that as a young adult trying to merge into finding my own way there are things I don't want to take with me anymore.
    I'm excited for the new chapter in your life. Can't wait for the album and live shows.

    Man, when you talked about the fact that we don’t see the child version of ourselves as ourselves but as someone to protect... I HAVE THE EXACT THOUGHT and I talked about this and about so many other things that you said in this interview in therapy. And you know, I’ve looked up to you so much during my adolescence because of your music, your voice, and your style and your power but I’ve found out that what I love the mots of having you as a role model is that you’re just as vulnerable as me and you really give voice to my thoughts and sometimes it even freaks me to see that we had the same life experiences and that we went trough the same shit and you don’t even know who I am, yet I feel like I am in someways connected to you, and I know you probably get this from a lot of people but I just couldn’t help sharing this after this meaningful interview that I thank you and Zane for. I won’t even tell you to stay strong cause that’s so cliché, but I do wish you the best, for real. Love x

      Shit, I'm scared of how you just said everything. This, what Hayley is doing, I don't think any artist ever did? I might be wrong of course but, fuck, she opens herself in an unbelievable way and makes this bond with us... like, this is a blessing, I don't know how to thank for it.

    • @flowerforvase
      @flowerforvase 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @YoStefan Oh, for sure there's lots of artists that are really open as well. Demi Lovato, another favorite of my own, for example. But, the way that Hayley does is different. Since the beginning of her career until now she has a transparency that's really peculiar, her interviews just evolved even more, it's literally an open therapy session almost. It's *all* about *her* , just purely her life and her thoughts in a way that's so intimate and specific but still so relatable, this is a kind of connection with the fanbase that's just so rare and difficult to achieve. And the way she talks, so vulnerable, humble and honest, like... jeez.

    Zane and Hayley are really out here doing this. It's kind of crazy because when After Laughter came out, I was in a similar place where everything felt empty and I was dancing in my toxic behavior, depression, and anxieties. When the cycle ended, it's when, in my life, I fell from the absolute highest of falls. It took me so long to put the pieces back together and the experiences I've gone through have no words. Except Hayley comes out with two singles that explain to a T some of the crap that goes on through people's heads during a time so dark you forget the meaning of light. And Zane has SUCH a natural way to get these topics to the surface without making it feel forced, nosy or invasive. This interview made me cry and feel a lot of things I wasn't expecting to feel. I'm grateful to both of them for being so open and honest. It helps a substantial amount. xo

      The fact that she has felt so low may be hard for me to understand, because I would love to have half of the positive experiences she has had in life, but I also know that depression is something anyone can go through.
