It's not struggling. RX580 and even RX570 are still fully viable for 1080p gaming on low-high settings depending on the game. It's just that Stalker 2 is horrendously optimized.
It is expected, it was budget GPU in 2018. What is sad is new budget GPUs not handling new games properly. Both devs and GPU makers are to blame. Nvidia is busy with AI, AMD just following Nvidia pricing, devs only care about console (and even there they think sub 1080p60 is fine, because casuals don't care and will buy anyway), and PC gaming slowly dies because of all these factors.
For what it's worth, I play on a 3060 non ti and get 60+ fps high presets with FSR frame generation on. The frame generation greatly increases appearance and stability. Not just fluff the framerate.

You just cannot demand more for them to uilitize these low end GPU to play 1080p low settings above 40--50FPS like that Chinese BMW dev coz BMW devs want to let more Chinese low end PC players play their most wish first 3A game. But BMW devs use most of their energy to utilize those low end hardwares, and they just don't have any energy and resources to make XSS work!

This is sad to see, honestly. I've been lookin forward to this game but as it's a stuttery mess, I just don't think my 3060/i7 setup would run it well enough. A statement which, unto itself, is wiild
You know what really annoyed me, is that I asked about when they are going to release a performance patch and the response was pretty much 'when we get around to it'.... but they were more than happy to take my money when they released a broken game. I am tired of buying games that are not finished
This game is bad on every level i tried to play it 3 times and each time after about 30 minutes i did alt+f4. I don't know if it's not my vibe but I would give this game 3/10.
Try resolution scaling with TSR. From my testing, TSR quality setting sets algorithm quality but does not touch render scale (lower - more performant but more shimmering). I've settled with 80% quality TSR as it looks better then FSR for me for the most part. This is somewhat counterintuitive for one algorithm to have basically 2 sliders while others only have one toggle.
Playin with an i510400f+1660 super, 32 gb ram. With a configuration medium fsr q/fg/nvidea latency redux.I've had changed the configurationes in "engine.ini", got rid of the "mouse smothness", and optimzed mod from nexus mods. Getting 50 - 60 fps, 40fps in towns. Very playable.
9:15 you need to set the render scale to the same as what FSR performance uses because it isn’t really upscaling if the tender scale is still 100% Also, thanks for including my Bob recommendation!
I haven't seen such bad optimization in a long time. This is a bit of an embarrassment for the studio. The developers probably expected people are waiting for this title. I guess Cyberpynk for previous generation consoles was in a similar state. Maybe they thought that Unreal Engine 5 and upscaling would take care of everything. I compared myself how Metro Exodus looks on the RX 580 and how to compare night and day. What the developers showed here deserves the strongest criticism.
If I recall correctly FSR3 already has some level of anti lag on in it, so when you turn the driver level one on too in some games it gets super weird frame times. I've seen it happen in stuff like Avatar myself. I think it might have been what was missing in the really broken implementions like forespoken and immortals of aveum, but I'm not sure.
Imagine these low-settings graphics, then how well the RX580 would run something like Modern Warfare 2 Remastered with 70+ fps on "Extra" settings and how much better it would look.
Crazy how so many devs are moving to UE5 and building all of their stuff on that engine, while at the same time 8 out of like 10 GPU's wont be able to run it properly. 😂😭
UE5 is a disgrace for gaming industry. Developers think they can always relate on Dlss and Fsr and get away with it. It's a shame, cyberpunk feels like a low demanding game compared to this UE5 Garbage.
Unreal Engine 5 is prone to bad Stutters and stuff however the performance is this bad purely because of the Devs. The options are there to turn off Raytracing & Lumen as well as Nanite and other stuff (LOD's and foliage density would also help) ... however if turned off lighting and effects will need a lot more work - they probably didn't have enough time and options all things considered with what happened. Another Unreal Engine 5 Game - Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is Playable at 900p low settings ( 40-60 fps Just patch the ini to fix slo mo effect if not 60 fps there is videos) on my 13 - almost 14 Year Old PC with i7 2600k & R7 260x 2GB. This just shows that Ue5 can be performant if the devs choose so. If Game devs wants to push the boundaries on graphics they should , however they need to give players the options to toggle demanding settings on/off. 1080p Native 30fps should be the minimum target at least Upscaling from below 1080p should be a option not a prerequisite.
Just use the Performance boost mod from Nexus mods(FSR + FG),I have an rx 580 r5 3600 and 16 gb of ram,and I get around 60fps in open world and 40fps in semipopulated areas. And it doesn't look to bad,and the mod kind of deals with the FG atrocious input lag. Totally playable that way if you're not very picky or just gaming on a budget.
This is what happens when developers do not play their games and have no idea what certain technologies are doing. They probably used 720p with FSR and FG and think that is playable...
Something about upscaling settings change in broken in stalker 2 now. At least in case with dlss i needed to restart game in order to make it render properly.
To be perfectly honest, i thought this video was going to be a lot shorter. I'm a guy who upgraded from a rx580 8gb to a 4060 8gb. Im upscaling it from 720p with frame gen. Its a joke.
Playing this on rx6800 at 1440p. On Epic settings at 65% resolution scale it chugs way under 60 (between 40 and 50 usually). I need to use frame generation to get to a somewhat playable framerate. Truly needs some improvement...
Why amd is removing support from rx 580 series the rx 580 doesn't even got 10 years old Nvidia support their gpus like 750 ti for now and release driver update with any high-end gpu like 4090
I don't understand why developers don't use Steam's Open Data to see what people actually run in their systems to prioritize their graphics pipeline lol
believe it or not I have a 3800x paired with a 7800xt and on a mix of med-epic settings at 1440p with fsr quality i hold a stable 60fps, with fsr frame gen its butter smooth with very very little input latency. The game definitely can use more optimization but i really think its all about your individual settings and the synergy of your components.
Isn’t your 3800x limiting your 7800XT? My OC’d 7700 XT gets 60fps in 1440P epic 90% of the time most demanding area’s its like 54 its roughly preforms the same as a 7800 XT as i have set the min frequency to 2.9ghz and max is 3.4ghz got the sapphire nitro so it stays pretty cool aswell but power consumption usually is above 250w
You cannot expect to run every new game that launches with an almost 8 year old mid-range graphics card. Ram is literally dirt cheap now. You can pick up used upper mid range graphics cards at a decent price. The Ryzen AM4 platform is dirt cheap as well. I'd say that if you aren't bothered to buy used, a 500€ setup is more than enough to run this game at a higher spec than the equivalent console. For a 2024/5 game, this seems more than reasonable, especially in an era where new mid-range GPUs *start* at 500€.
It's not a matter of it being old and expecting an old GPU to run it well. The problem is that they put this GPU in the minimum requirements and it clearly should be there.
@zWORMzGaming I somewhat agree, system requirements have been something misleading for a long time. But at the same time, I don't think anybody expects 1080p60 fps from minimum requirements. You can most probably play that game at 1080p 30fps with the minimum requirements PC at the lowest possible settings in game. The fact that is messes with the resolution so much that it really isn't 1080p anymore is something that everybody profits from. Bottom line is, technically, they are right to have this GPU as a "minimum requirement" . In practice, it depends whether you want to play STALKER 2 or the Minecraft edition of it.

this is a sign that you should give more indie games a shot
An rtx 4060 can run Alan Wake 2 and cyberpunk high settings flawlessly. This is just because of the game.
@@ACowIsHuge agreed but its an expensive hobby to keep up with
@@adlibconstitution1609 alan wake 2 high flawlessly? Only with FG lol
They made XSS version dynamic 900P TSR to 1080P, medium-high graphic settings almost stable 30fps, which is already a miracle for their cirumstances.
I love your honesty 👍👍
It s would be good is there is a way to disable the damm Nanite and lumen on lowest setting 😅, btw awesome video like always, keep the good work, really curious to see how it s run on the mighty gt 1030 😂, and maybe even on a slower cpu like on the ryzen 5 3600x that you have if i remember correctly. If you have the time i wil surely enjoy watching thanks to you nice entrainment when you comment.
What a horrible optimization why they say rx 580 for the system requirements when its not gonna run the game
What about vega 56 next?
its not so much faster. 580 is a gtx1060 and vega is a gtx1070ti maybe.
just downloading it at my vega 56 + ryzen 3600 -> I hope for 30 fps. I guess is time to sell it. It held AAA gaming for long enough!
Amd Radeon vii here : 48 fps in low most of the time , 80 average with fsr quality and FG on . What a shit show
@@SolidChrisGR probably because of lack of support for the latest directx, time to upgrade my vega 56
its a scientific method dont question it. actually perfectly showed what you were saying
Runs at ultra 4k on my C64,....@ 1 FPM ( Frame Per Minute)!
I don't know if you already noticed but you can disable the Nanite through the config file. Try it. Just put a line inside that and save and you are good to go for low end cards.
RTX 3050 8GB test with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 when
It's a common theme for games to be released unoptimized and broken. I'll wait for a sale when the game is fixed.
13:00 Dude, I am watching this video on GT 1030 😥
When is AMD sending you the AMD 9800X3D
I have no idea
9800X3D 4090 combo can't even hit 60fps at 4K natively.
Hey! If you see this comment, please go and try enabling AMD Turbo Boost if your motherboard supports it. I've seen it boosting some FPS on AMD CPUS with 3D cache.
Eh. 7 and a half years. It's had a good run.
such a paradox, modern games look worse than older games with lower end graphics cards. If they did 360p pixel game, it will have better look that this )
best way I've seen somebody demonstrate input lag
I just tell you guys the rx 580 is a 7 years old gpu.You would like to run the modern games with this one.Pc gaming is expensive,if you like to play games you have to buy like 3070 card and ryzen 5800x minimum what is 4 years old hardwar already. If you buy a pc with 4070 and ryzen 7800x3d You can have a good gaming experience with this one years old hardware or you can buy console and play the games with 30 fps and ultra performance upscalling.
There are so many performance mods on nexus mods, you can run this game now on gtx 1050 ti without any issues
1:16 You took it personally 😂😂
Actually its really authentic performance to Stalker SoC as i remember in 2007))
This is sad to see, honestly. I've been lookin forward to this game but as it's a stuttery mess, I just don't think my 3060/i7 setup would run it well enough. A statement which, unto itself, is wiild
3:41 how dare u to speak common sense!!!
The fanboys will hopefully come and show u where ur place is!
Not the poor RX580 in stalker 2 let it rest 😭
It's not even a game to play..It's a horrible nuclear disaster on your loving pc..😊plz don't activate radiation from your PC 😅..stay safe..😊
Dude, the developers should have ditched the Unreal Engine entirely and improved their already existing one from the first games.
Maybe now another graphics card from the minimum requirements for this game: the Intel Arc A750?
Great video! Do you have any plans to test the rx 6800 in this game?
I'd rather stick with Anomaly then suffer through this mess. Probably worth playing after another year or 2.
Sad gtx 1080 ti and rx580 aren’t capable of smooth gameplay. Time goes by
1080 ti still good
@@fee.d i still got the gtx 1080 ti, its like 2 fps lower than rtx 2080 so its still relevant, and also 11 gb vram
@ yeah but its sad it can’t play on high-medium 1080p these days. It hurts me as if I’m watching superman slowly getting old
It just the engine, patches should help improve
The optimization is just terrible, 1080 ti should be able to give 60 fps on medium at least, we just gotta wait
i need a break from this hobby. it's too disappointing
9:15 you need to set the render scale to the same as what FSR performance uses because it isn’t really upscaling if the tender scale is still 100%
Also, thanks for including my Bob recommendation!
Yea sometimes it bugs, and scaling doesn't change, noticed with TSR
*Render scale

Good old days when the video card barely could play games on lowest settings but I had plenty time to play.
These are like old school minimum requirements. It will just let you start the game without assurance of the performance and experience you will get.
I was happy when I saw that the minimum is RX580, because I upgraded from RX580 to 6600XT, so I thought I will be fine at 1080p... oh well...
Its not even at 720p playable❤
Whens the RTX 4070 ti benchmark? Keep up the good work
Not sure yet!
Thanks 😃
Why ur SHARPNESS = 69% ? Here is 20% Default and was a big difference in FPS.
This is what happens when developers do not play their games and have no idea what certain technologies are doing. They probably used 720p with FSR and FG and think that is playable...
I have the exact same gpu and it runs at 55 fps most of the time with some higher settings enabled, am using fsr 3. Game looks solid in graphics.
my cpu isnt anything either just a ryzen 5 3600 6 core
Something about upscaling settings change in broken in stalker 2 now. At least in case with dlss i needed to restart game in order to make it render properly.
To be perfectly honest, i thought this video was going to be a lot shorter. I'm a guy who upgraded from a rx580 8gb to a 4060 8gb. Im upscaling it from 720p with frame gen. Its a joke.
Imo the developers should have listed the gtx 1660 (ti) as the minimum requirement and the rx 6600.
Playing this on rx6800 at 1440p. On Epic settings at 65% resolution scale it chugs way under 60 (between 40 and 50 usually). I need to use frame generation to get to a somewhat playable framerate. Truly needs some improvement...
Can we talk about how Far Cry 4 has more appealing and more realistic looking graphics then todays games??
I care more about the missing A Life feature. It feels like a farcry game without it
Why amd is removing support from rx 580 series the rx 580 doesn't even got 10 years old
Nvidia support their gpus like 750 ti for now and release driver update with any high-end gpu like 4090
They might become a minimum requirement GPU when they actually fix the game a bit. I belive there is some headroom to do it.
I don't understand why developers don't use Steam's Open Data to see what people actually run in their systems to prioritize their graphics pipeline lol
Even a 4090 and ryzen 9 7950X3D isnt great on this game. Frame rate is always high but its stuttering which kills the game for me.
8:13 and we are back to fallout 3 graphics but with 20 fps performance 😎👌
@14:50, it looks like doom! The original one from the 90s
lets hope they add screen space reflections to the game, so we don't have to use raytracing.
stalker anomaly can also look really amazing with mods and it will run infinitely better
believe it or not I have a 3800x paired with a 7800xt and on a mix of med-epic settings at 1440p with fsr quality i hold a stable 60fps, with fsr frame gen its butter smooth with very very little input latency.
Balanced does a lot actually, it just feels like it doesn’t.
Nanite and lumen make it so hard for these old GPUs
That noise with fsr ultra performance
Just think that as radiation effect
One that you cant get rid of it just part of the game
🤣
Yeah and Calisto is 8k30 on ps5pro.
The town is totally unoptimized not a good place to test. It seems like it can achieve about 30 to 40 fps with FSR quality outside of town.
At least you got high refresh rate experience in the main menu
I brought this year RTX 3070 to get 40-50 fps in this game. Like with my previous card (1650S) in the previous generation of the Unreal Engine, xd
I had a 1650 super now a 7700 XT much needed upgrade and haven’t had any “driver issues” been a great card so far
In practice, it depends whether you want to play STALKER 2 or the Minecraft edition of it.
how do you turn on FG on the RX 580???
