Great idea giving a few tips on how to find the materials , not everybody is clued up and would head to the usual main stream outlets . Price wise i would say new stock is slowly coming back to a reasonable level but i don't think it will ever drop back to pre 2020 prices . I'm in the builders merchant trade and although the prices have started to return its still about half way more than it used to be . Keep up with the tips and builds loving that big smoker build way too big for us in the uk but heck you guys love a cook out

I'm from the metro Detroit area. I got lucky with Facebook marketplace. I found a guy selling 2"x3"x 3/16" tube (24' long) for $125 per stick. I also got my 500gal propane tank and trailer axles from Facebook market.
I also frequent Alro steel, they have outlet center that sell remnants (what's left after they cut the original piece off)

I work for a steel company and sell our nonconfoming steel to a third party (we have a contract with). I can turn around and buy it for pennies on the dollar. There is plenty of “surplus” steel distributors out there.
