In fact, the future dictator had extra rations of beer delivered to his prison in Landsberg. In July 1923 he had 62 bottles delivered to his cell, in August 47, in September 60 and in October 47 bottles again. I’m not sure how accurate this is. The German leader was not an Austrian, other than in citizenship. Not all Austrians are German, but he was a German which is why he volunteered for service in the German army in the Great War rather than the Austrian military. Ethnically, he was German. He did have a favorite sport; boxing. And his idol was certainly not Mussolini. He allied with the Italians simply to shore up Germany’s European neighbors, many of whom were facing Jewish Bolshevik Revolutions. He privately remarked that he regretted having Italians as an ally rather than the English, because Italians were less than useless as warriors.
Funny contrasts between Hitler and Churchill with Hitler had healthy habits and Churchill had not. And Churchill knew two languages as the other knew one. Although I have two questions: Did Hitler really idolize Mussolini? I thought he just thought of him as an easily disposable friend. And wasn't Hitlers's first job a Soldier for the Kaiser Army?
First, maybe, on the beginning of political life, he respected Signor Mussolini, like a first teacher and inspiration for own new and next ideas. But, later, Mussolini stay just a Hitler personal friend and nothing more. That was even Mussolini death, after 28th of April, 1945. Second, when he become a Kaiser Soldier, Hitler was already Vienna painter and street artist. He was paint Vienna postcards and he dreamed he would become a architect, one day. Never happened! But, he become later Kaiser Soldier and German Fuhrera, much later. Impressive?! Isn't it?!

Winston Churchill was certainly not an agnostic or an un-believer since he was a member of the Anglican Church as well as a lifelong member of a Free Mason lodge, where the acknowledgement of a higher power or deity is one of the premier requirements for acceptance. Hitler on the other hand was raised catholic but seemed to have lapsed out during his early adult years, still he did display a certain positive attitude in certain christan aspects such as the teachings of Christ and the value of the community beyond material possessions. Apparently as certain historians and even theologians have concluded, his personal beliefs seem to align with that of a deist, which for those who don't know is basically is someone who believes in a creator who set the creation in motion and order and who does not intervine in it. Another possibility is that his spirituality was aligned with that of the typical volkish beliefs that had sprung up in the second half of the 19th century but had gained larger popularity after WW1. I hope this was of use to anybody who needed some clarification on the matter.

He wasn't, he was made an honorary American citizen by JFK, they made him a special unique but official passport representing this. He was however by birth half-American on his mother's side, but he was born and raised in Britain. 02:00 Churchill was definitely *not* Agnostic!. He was Anglican (CofE). As most people born & brought up in late Victorian Britain would have been. I'm an Atheist myself. But let's not pave over indisputable facts.
Sure, but cultural religion can be different to a personal faith, I've heard other prominent politicians in the Churchill era described as "Nietzschean Anglicans", in that they could only ever see themselves being Anglican, but for cultural reasons, while being agnostic about god. There's also very little evidence or comment that the other guy was actually a pantheist, he just wasn't a regular Christian, more a monotheist pagan. Plus, not interested in sport? He was bonkers about boxing, and hosted the Olympics. Sure it was political and even ideological, but he was very interested in it. And I have no idea where they get their favourite colours from.
@@Alfred5555 Churchill lost his religion by reading Winwoood Reade's 'The Martyrdom of Man'. Reade is an interesting character. He was the first person to discover gorillas are not vicious, savage beast but among the most peaceful creatures. There is a website dedicated to his work.

The Brits got absolutely routed and solely by the grace of Germany letting them go that they made it all back in one piece to England. The French then got to sign their surrender in the very same wagon they forced the Germans to sign in 1918.
A few small corrections are probably necessary:
02:32: Hitler's favorite food was egg dumplings with green salad, but certainly not squab.
02:58: Since Hitler never took a test, this information is nonsense. And Churchill is not known to have undergone a test either.
03:04: Hitler's idol was not Mussolini, but rather Otto von Bismarck and Richard Wagner.
03:12: Hitler's favorite films included King Kong, Die Feuerzangenbowle, Die Finanzen des Großherzogs and Fritz Lang's Siegfried film.
03:19: The myth that Hitler didn't drink alcohol is probably still in circulation. In fact, the future dictator had extra rations of beer delivered to his prison in Landsberg. In July 1923 he had 62 bottles delivered to his cell, in August 47, in September 60 and in October 47 bottles again. There are hardly any entries for November, but in December there were 34 bottles again. These were half liter bottles. On average, he drank just under a liter of beer a day. The normal German only manages 0.3 l.
Best regards from Germany.

Hitler did not stay at the eagles nest (das Kehlsteinhaus). He visited it about 13 times and no one was known to have ever stayed the night.

Funny contrasts between Hitler and Churchill with Hitler had healthy habits and Churchill had not. And Churchill knew two languages as the other knew one.
Although I have two questions:
Did Hitler really idolize Mussolini? I thought he just thought of him as an easily disposable friend.
And wasn't Hitlers's first job a Soldier for the Kaiser Army?
I can’t really answer the first question, but I can surely answer the second one:
No, before WWI, Hitler was a painter.
Initially he had great respect for Mussolini, and he was loyal to him to the end. He rescued him from imprisonment on the Gran Sasso.
Isn't it?!
@@eltivo503 But it wasn't a real job he was doing. He lived primarily on his parents' inheritance until he became a soldier.
He did admire Mussolini early on. Later he thought M ussolini was let down by his country.

I always thought Winston was British but come to find out that he was an American Citizen. That's a wild fact.
He wasn't, he was made an honorary American citizen by JFK, they made him a special unique but official passport representing this. He was however by birth half-American on his mother's side, but he was born and raised in Britain.
When addressing the American Congress during ww2, he joked that he's essentially half-American, and that if his parents were the other way round, he might of made it there a the head of Congress on his own, like he'd done as Prime Minister in Britain.
If he was born in Britain hes British….

02:00 Churchill was definitely *not* Agnostic!. He was Anglican (CofE). As most people born & brought up in late Victorian Britain would have been. I'm an Atheist myself. But let's not
pave over indisputable facts.

Many such works were floating about and receiving romantic attention in the late 19th and early 20th century, Nietzsche himself which had a huge effect. Before WW1 people tend to forget, Germany had affectively fully turned to the idea of a romanticised Germania and the old gods, etc. Victorian Britain too, all the Gothic architecture and revival of classical statues was a Victorian thing. It was all a time of neo-paganism and Darwinism I suppose.
I see that Reade wrote a lot about Druids too. I guess he was applying some critical thinking to the notion of God and trying to get to the bottom of it.

Hitler had no children. The story of the supposed son is extremely unbelievable. Studies have even shown this. In addition, Mr. Loret's birthday was March 18th or 25th, 1918. He would therefore have been conceived between mid-June and mid-July 1917. Hitler's regiment had been stationed in Pecquencourt since June 13th, 1917. That's 60 km away from where his supposed girlfriend lived. After 10 days we went to Ardooie in Belgium on June 23rd and then to Geluveld on July 12th and to the Polygon forest near Ypres on July 26th. That's 130 and 150 km respectively.
