As a dermatologist, I love this and your message. The New York Times did an editorial on this with a similar take on July 8. Not all great sunscreens need to be expensive but they definitely should be made in a manufacturing facility and subject to SPF testing…
I think labbmuffin beauty science covered this at some point but they're actually not that effective for evaluating how effective a sunscreen is. Those cameras also aren't great for that either

I was so upset but then it was this. Whatever this is 😂😂 I could never swap my Korean sunscreen for this ❤
That intro is everything. I won't try DYI anything skin related. Not after my horror experience with buying a creator's soap she made at home on TikTok. It was Kojiac acid, turmeric, and honey soap bar for Hyperpigmentation. I ended up with bad texture, cystic acne on my chin, fungal acne, and a bacterial hair follicle condition that none of these were present prior to the use. I used it for 2 weeks and when it arrived the bar of soap was a bit melted. Wondering if the heat during shipping, could it of changed the formula? It's been half a year almost, and I am still going through invasive treatments with a Dermatologist.

1:54 I have seen zinc oxide for sale… in art supply stores, as a pigment for making your own paints. Idk if it’s made to the same standards as the stuff that is meant for sunscreen or even white eyeshadow pigment though.

As a nurse for a dermatologist who specializes in oncology. Making sun screen on your is so not recommended. A lot of sunscreens that are sold in stores aren't even recommended. Just buy it from a reputable FDA approved brand, reapply and reapply again and again! Cover up with UV clothing if able to and stay out of the sun of you can.
Not having sunscreen…but having all these waxes, oils, powders, and a convenient glass jar is CRAZY!!!
