    I love having the option(s): slide or no slide, tune down, or standard tuning. I can totally do this either way; and that's a blast!

    Good point bro about not discriminating against non-slide players! Although, I love the slide, it just feels awkward and constrictive! When I put it on my pinky, I lack control of it but if I put on my ring finger, then I can't play some of the major blues riffs and forget about the shuffle! So this was very helpful. Thank you!

    George doesn’t use a slide on Who Do You Love. He plays e shape in the 12th fret position. Very nice anyway. :) And helpful. The A shape is nice. Nice to bring the low octave in on the A string too, with the open E right ringing out.

    Great lesson. Thank you. This is just what I was looking for. Maybe I'll learn slide in the future. Right now, I'd like to just knock out a few licks that sound like Thorogood. Not even play the songs. Just for laughs. Thank you.
    Sad that you have to anticipate the complaints of the knuckleheads pointing out the obvious -- like you don't know that Thorogood plays slide guitar. Lmao.

      Put your guitar in Open G tuning and play the chords at frets 12 (one), 5 (four), and 7 (five). It’s just a 1-4-5 blues with a slide. You have probably seen this: th-cam.com/video/mO0b8zgF-fQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VnT3gh-utvpzRGk_

    Good Lesson, the only thing I noticed was you appeared to be using a pick whereas Thorogood fingerpicks, which is ok, it is a slide lesson for non- slide players. How about a lesson of his new "Willie DIxon's Gone"? THanks!

    Your videos are outstanding! One request would be to break the storming down. I have seen it explained different ways and almost every video (like yours) calls attention to it but then sort of assumes, I guess, watching you play it at speed is enough of an explanation. Not for this cat, I would love to see a couple of broken down vids on the strum. There are a couple Jim Bowley comes to mind. But damn, help a brother get the beat. Excellent job though and thank you!

    • @Hoodrio
      @Hoodrio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Joe! I appreciate the kind feedback and the suggestion. You’re correct that I don’t break down strum patterns, and that’s probably because my particular learning style tends toward learning by watching and listening. I would recommend Justin Guitar for strumming tutorials.

    • @joejones4181
      @joejones4181 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hoodrio thanks for the decipher of "strum" not storming, lol. I understand, the bo diddly beat is a little tricky for new comers and you do such a great job of explaining the rest, I just hope that a few words on the strum pattern would help. Justin is my hero! But I have not found any video on him breaking the Bo Diddley strum pattern down. Part of the confusion is it appears to be taught in different ways. Oh well, still thanks for the video!
