I get that people prefer the more saturated colors and the higher contrast, but for me, as a rain fanatic, the denser, hazier, wetter rain effect takes the cake. That's some beautiful rain effects in the definitive edition.

It was only a boring chore to get around. - I always made it to the next objective as fast as I could and didn't bother exploring anything, cause it was boring. - Kinda like Just Cause for instance, the world feels like it's made up of model buildings and toy vehicles. - It just feels cheap. - But other than that, I loved the game that you actually played. Despite orignal looking more crisp in videos, definitive edition definitely feels more realistic and feels more alive. More reflection doesn't always mean more realistic, definitive edition has comparitively realistic reflection where your character cotton shirt doesn't look like polyethylene shirt due to excessive reflection. Coming to the fog it makes picture look less contrast in video but when you play on your own machine it adds depth to the city. Without fog city looks like one of those stop motion wax cartoon movies, or the gta trilogy remastered. I have both orignal and definitive and I will definitely choose definitive.
I can't fault either edition, great game. Just a quick look - essentially the change is primarily artistic - the original has higher contrast. lower brightness and higher color saturation, resulting in crushed blacks. The Definitive Edition features, increased brightness with a less saturated color aesthetic closer to life. So really it's all down to personal preference. If there is an in game setting for brightness and contrast you could probably adjust the slider in DE version to make it nigh on identical to the og release.
Nice video I played both of them, on xbox360 and ps4, and I can say that on DE there's more police side missions (like we saw on true crime previous titles) and they fixed some bugs and made things a little harder, the cops never shoot my car's wheels on OG, while on DE they did it 2 times at least, making Wei die easily while on police heat. They increased the recover time after you miss an counter, and to finish, the water reflections are better and they added a big rainy weather during the missions. If you already played OG and all DLCs, there's no reason to play DE again
Colors and lightning are way more accurate and less cartoonish in definitive edition. More complex reflections also. Black and dark are saturated in original
One of the best 2010 to 2015 games I ever played. I have played 50+ from 2010 2015 play on 6 core Intel 32GB DDR 2 1080GTX SLI 1440P 165Hz now no issues with DE on 2k setup looked amazing and easy to fine tune not as washed out as DE looks in video original with better tech I got the game in 2018, the DE for $5.99. I've never heard of it. The game was outstanding. The best 5.99 game ever but so good worth 29.99 to 59.99 like most new games just that good From how it looked to how it played to how the story was, this was a top-notch game. Always wanted a 2nd one A lot compared to grand theft auto 3 & 4. A open world In a city is the only part I see similar to grand theft auto the rest is different and the game holds its own. One of the best fighting games I ever played as well the arcade style driving was fantastic .The game immerses you in a beautiful city. I love the city lights the reflections of the paint jobs the weather & atmosphere of the city. Overall a great open world That takes place in a foreign city with a dual role in the game A San Francisco cop and a triad gangster a lot to do and a lot to collect a wonderful story that made everything hold together light on the shooting alot of driving and fighting it was a nice change of pace and a great game. I give a 4 out of 5 stars and I tell everybody to play it. Mafia 2 La Norie Spec op the line BATMAN AA MAX PAYNE 3 Mad Max some othere great 2010 2015 games

Hong Kong City is more densely populated in the Definitive Edition. DE also has better rain effects and puddle reflections. Artistically, the original version looks better in many ways.
to be honest i think the Definitive Edition is better in a lot of ways especially how it handles the DLC stuff like the red notes. as for the lighting being brighter, i think people need to mess with the brightness setting. i got mine set to 20 as it says lower the setting till the logo is barely visible, for me 20 is just right.
06:28-06:36 Neon signs look so better in Definitive edition they not static, more realistic. But orginal look more sharp and colorful, so i use with Reshade for Definive Edition
The definitive edition is available on steam. I bought the original when it came out a long time ago and it isn't available anymore. Don't know about mobile availability, I don't play on mobile.
Tbh the darker lighting in the original is the only difference I think it makes thin gf a pop more which is why some think it looks better but honestly graphics overall the same just different lighting, the only thing I will say looks better are some of the cars in the OG

I can't fault either edition, great game. You saved me a dime because I have the original but these remasters coming out left and right create a fomo where I feel I will miss out if I don't play the remastered one. I'll stick to the original.

Most of these remasters only seem to make the colors lighter and don't seem to make the textures much better.
