I'm really looking forward to all your videos on the Stark Varg. I'm scheduled for delivery in February 2024. I ride in very similar environments to you with perhaps a bit more higher speed sandy desert singletrack as well. Your comments on range and performance in enduro conditions will definitely be a deciding factor on moving forward with the purchase or not. I'll be happy with a realistic 25-35 mile range in enduro conditions.
It's important to remember that electric motors are not adversly affected by altitude like a gas engine is, as the air density gets thinner. A gas engine that puts out 40HP at sea level is nowhere near as strong at 10,000'. Since I ride over 9K' regularly, I will be excited to get the full power from each respective setting. Looking forward to getting my Stark delivery in a couple of months.
okay i can say the same thing for the negative affects of the cold temperature on a li ion battery which is far worse than the effects of altitude on a fuel injected motorcycle (which compensates btw thanks to an MAF sensor)
@@ih8momjokes1 The cold temps don't effect performance, only run time and recharging on electric vehicles, and a MAF sensor can't restore lost power, it just helps it run well...Higher altitude = less air pressure = less oxygen = less fuel burning = less power.
I have seem many videos of this bike on the mx track, but seeing this on trails without any engine sounds going from 0 to warp speed in 2 sec looks so insane. 80Hp looks too scary. I guess the 60Hp is like a 450mx bike on steroids. I would love to have one just to not having to do almost no maintenance.
Got the same feeling when I first rode the bike, thing is that it gets even better once you get to know it. Way more confident then any other bike I ridden.
So funny, this reminds me of the first time I rode my Alta and I had the same exact reaction. I wish I could go back and relive that day again. Enjoy Tucker!

These things have basically "end game" power, like, in 10 years, I doubt we will have more power, because the bikes will be even lighter. They also seem to have great range/amp hours now, which was surprising. Imagine in a few years if they start really taking off, and then suddenly there are chargers at most tracks? These things are already pretty practical today, but are gonna be wild at a certain inflection point.

@@enforcer-enduro I appreciate the heck out of your testing/info sharing. Was looking at one of the stark bikes hard but went with a tpi 300 after seeing the range. Hope they do an Enduro version or something with a bigger battery, or at least one that's easy to swap

The reason just 40hp feels so amazing on a bike like this is because an electric motor can provide same torque across the entire RPM range, and in this case, speed as well!... On a 250f, you need can only get 40hp at 20mph, 30mph, 40mph etc.. Each gear has only ONE rpm that gives you 40hp. That's the wonder of an electic bike!
Can't wait for the range tests. Integrate elevation data into the tests. so we can do some math! It's often hard to see how steep something is in a video.
Great video. What I want to see most is how it can handle enduro riding with rocks, ledges and such. My least favorite trails are flowy singletrack but get into some rocks and Moab like stuff, that’s what I need to see it on and see what the range looks like and how it handles.
Thanks soo much for sharing! Cannot wait until mine arrives next month. Glad to see that it performs well in trails as well as MX. Sick video and congrats on the bike!

I would like to know how it performs at SLOW speed, for instance when you have to stop and resume in the middle of a steeper slope with a wet root, or some loose material, etc. The problem I have with electric bikes without a clutch so far is their underwhelming performance in that kind of situation: they spin too easily, hard to control the traction.
Yeah, we need a proper hard enduro tests. Anyway, I don't think that it will perform good because control only on throttle isn't precise enough and isn't safe enough.
You could literally crawl uphill at 1 mph with perfect stability on these. I have an Alta and it's the most controllable bike I've ever ridden among so many other things.
@@JoshStreetDesign I mean, you can't be precise with only throttle in some awkward situations in hard enduro when you are hanging on a handle bar or bike is trying to fly away.
