Jennie versatility in both singing and rapping is just amazing
Exactly. I'll never understand people that say she can't sing. To me the ones who say that have only listened to her rap. Her cover of "When Will My Life Begin" is spectacular. If it wasn't for Rosé and Jisoo being in the same group Jennie would absolutely kill it as a main singer. She's still one of the most rounded individuals in both K-pop and music in general. There's nothing I have yet to see her not excel at.

One of my fave blackpink performances. Kpop often expects idols to be perfect and all groups perform frequently with loud backing tracks. As a blink, my favourite moments are when the girls are given a microphone and they just get to do their thing with no interference. Their live vocals are just so unique.

Hehe this was the performance when Jennie became my bias. I already liked her vocals the moment she started the song but when she started to rap I was like wait she can also rap?! I was so amazed by her versatility. This song really gave justice to both of Jennie's strong vocals and her powerful rap. I really miss the debut era of BP.

How can Jennie be perfect like that ? She can rap and sing perfectly
I always compare Jisoo's voice to velvet - smooth and soft, but with just that bit of texture to it. This is one of my fave performances by her, where her lead vocals shine, but you can also see where her harmonies allow the other girls to soar.
Not that I think this is only a great performance by Jisoo. All of the girls are fantastic, and this video was the one that locked me in as a Blink.
Love this performance. Lisa look so confident and her rap part in the end was just *chief kiss* . Jisoo vocals (and English) is the cherry on top.

Rose’ s run over Lisa’s “you can bet dat, never gotta sweat dat” is one of many moments that make the arrangement shine. Like you said, Blackpink is Blackpink because they make the most of the differences in their tones and ranges - as well as the overlap in their ranges.

Totally agree with you. Each BLACKPINK member is a superstar on their own. Each carries unique style, colour and charismatic to their own performance. Together, they create such a supernova effect. No wonder they are the best girl group in the world of this generation. To be honest, they are the only group that could change my perspective of KPOP. They are the only group that could ever convince me to listen to KPop. I know of other KPop groups (only recently cause of BP) but BLACKPINK hits differently.

The rap part was written by lisa and jennie when they were still trainees :)
The dude rocking out is the head of a rival company JYP. BP originally did this during their trainee days. They were required to have multiple songs, raps, dances in monthly evaluations that they put together and picked outfits for etc. the head of JYP is a massive Miguel fan and after they debuted he found out they did this song for their monthly evaluations with Jennie and Lisa adding in the middle raps they wrote. He has this concert series “party people” and got a hold of YG and asked them if BP could perform and so here they were :) they also did a dance to Beyoncé partition during this
