      Tahini and almonds? You are a genius! This is a great combo with dates.
      Might even add some pistachios and leave out the chocolate... but it would turn it into a totally different recipe.

    Just to inform any diabetics(am one myself), they might not be using any refined sugar, but dates consists of almost 2/3 sugar, dried ones even more if you're using that.

    • @TooToo246

      However, dates also contain a lot of fiber and other factors, which drastically changes the way your body responds to the sugar.....Most of our problems with sugar, are not from sugar itself per se, but rather from sugar being isolated from its source food....But if your diabetes is advanced, and even the fiber within the dates is not enough, then I highly suggest a couple apple cider vinegar tspns in a glass of water, 10 mins before consuming that sweet bar!

    Sie schmecken wirklich besser als Snickers. Ich bin begeistert! Soeben habe ich sie das 2. Mal hergestellt.

    Maybe a silly question but are you supposed to drain the water from the dates after soaking?
    I’ve made this recipe several times and I burned my wife’s first mini chopper / blender, blamed the chopper, got a ninja, and make that smoke on its first go too!
    It becomes very cement like yet in the video you blender doesn’t struggle at all….
    Recipe is amazing BTW! Everybody loves it and the macros aren’t that bad either!!
    I’d make 8 slim bars as appose to 4 and you can also double the recipe for meal prep as these are good for 10-15 days if kept in the fridge and taken out on the day of consumption.

    • @Mystress1980
      @Mystress1980 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      @@user-wq9mw2xz3j They don't "really" have a point though. Empty calories are bad, yes, but calories in are still calories in. If you're eating 3000 calories a day, your body doesn't care if it's from dates or ice cream. You're still going to gain weight. Dates are very high in sugar, regardless of it being natural. Sugar is sugar to the body. Some of it comes with benefits, like dates, maple syrup, and honey, but it's still sugar, just as salt is salt - pink or otherwise. Moderation in everything is what's key. Just because it's natural doesn't mean it won't affect you, is the point that person seems to be missing. Vegan diets are notoriously unhealthy for a lot of people because they have that mindset. Sulfure and arsenic are "natural" too. It's a buzz word that seems to confuse some people. It doesn't automatically make it HEALTHY.

    I just did a recipe calorie count on this, and it seems that if you make this into 4 bars that the calorie count per bar is at least 450cal. A Snickers is 215cal. It may be better to cut this into 8 to get to 225cal or perhaps only put chocolate on one half [50g]. 1 bar/50g of Lindt chocolate is 280 cal ....that gets each one of the 4 bars down to around 350cal. Still better to cut into 8 squares, then.

      Khawkey25, have you actually made these ?, what was the weight of each bar, was thinking about making them but thought I might change up the recipe and drop some of the weight for the ingredients light the nuts as there would be a lot of calories in the nuts aswell as sugar in the chocolate, that’s my thoughts

    • @khawkey25
      @khawkey25 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Guitarfit No, I didn't make them because of the calories. The nuts are good calories (if they are raw) though. Regular snickers has a whipped inside, maybe that's why these are so caloric - more dense. Maybe you could try making a meringue and mixing some the ingredients for the "nougat" with that to lighten the calorie load (you'd have to use some of the sugar out of the filling and put it into the meringue in that case) Another idea is not to coat the entire thing in chocolate...maybe just drizzle the top?
