No, just 2 alternative Yamaha sound chips (YM3256 vs YM2203) giving the music different voicings. The YM2203 version sucks compared to the one played here.

If it didn't last long in the game. And there were no people waiting to play I had to listen to Marching Raster until fatigue 3 4 or 5

Fantastic sound chip! YM3526 was predecessor of YM3812 and YMF262 used in PC sound cards.
I just noticed that "Suspicion" from Phantasy Star IV pays homage to "Dycoon." Neat!
2:13 is an ace nod to Moon Cresta :)

I never saw this game in an arcade but played it to death on the Commodore 64. I have it on MAME now.
