Well, if only tyres matter, then buying anything more expensive than a Duster is stupid. So, Dacia wins again :D
@@GlossaME well no, because if they both had the same tyres then you can see what actual difference are in the car, but whilst they are not the same tyre it means all fo this is a waste of time. Some one on skates would beat someone else with trainers no matter who the better one actually was

Hauling 2.3tons up the slippy hill is much different than 1400kg. Also Q7 really misses gear reduction. Before Q7 4.2TDI I had Mercedes ML400CDI and it made day night difference when you put it in the Low range, slowly crawled forward without loosing grip. Q7 just snaps those wheels into spin no matter how gentle you work the pedal. It was not made for offroad thats for sure. Its brother Touareg 1 had Low range and rear axle lock options, better suited for offroading.
With bad driver you cant climb not even with monster truck

Dont get me wrong. We don't have Dacia here in the USA, it seems like a great vehicle. But I believe a more even comparison would be the smaller Q5 with a 2.0 or even the 6 cyl. I totally agree about the weight difference having a major impact. Not that the Q5 would positively win, just a more level playing field.
@@johnalbert7526 Dacia is really bottom end of low tier cars. Cheap as they get with nothing in it and noisy transfer cases from factory. Fair comparison to the Q7 would be BMW X7 or Mercedes GL. X5 or ML/GLC are not really on par. But I dont expect much different results between those. Quattro is superior to Xdrive and 4-MATIC systems by its nature but you can´t fool physics. Its still upwards 3 tons loaded with fuel and passengers that needs to go up a slippy slope.

I appreciate the education. We may be one of the largest countries, but we have far fewer options of vehicles over here to choose from and a lot of these vehicles pass under the radar here because of our regulations which in some cases are just downright stupid.
Way to go Dacia good job! For a driver without any knowledge it would be awsome to just go and forget about it :D

It's obvious that Dacia is higher and lighter and that is crucial when entering deep snow. Also you need to have narrow profile tyres, not wide-low as of Audi.

Duster feels more of an SUV, unlike the Q7, which is just another Minivan with "SUV" slapped profile ... Spare parts and maneuvering is also easier & cheaper in the Duster.
Its not obvious, the secret of the snow is balance traction, then a good awd would make a huge difference.
Tyres are everything. I once had a jeep cherokee renegade (2.8crd) stock Goodyear wranglers in snow needed 4wd for a hill. Same hill same snow with Goodrich comp TA it never left the 2wd setting again.

Not only. There is difference in power split front-rear. Audi on snow looses traction much faster.
Yeah I have that generation audi(3.6 prem) and it’s heavy yeah but it’s never spun out on me.

La altura del despeje en la Duster, es la clave, un offroad, debe tener principalmente eso, y no como el audi que es muy bajo.
Păcat caci Dusteru nu are și o versiunie cu motorizare mai mare.
El Audi es bajo y pesa más eso influye demasiado, no me parece una buena comparación, para mí son dos segmentos distintos.

To są podstawy by porównywać auto klasy premium z rumuńską puszką.To tak jak głupie porównania z jazdą na śniegu,Audi opona szeroka na 300 a w Duster 175 :)

Estoy de acuerdo, ruedas más pequeñas, micho menor peso. Al final la balanza se decanta rápido, habría sido mejor la prueba con un q3 que es más parejo (o eso creo yo)

Bravo au Duxter il accroche jusqu'au bout sans trop de résistance, je dirais un véhicule qui n'a pas à envier d'autres marques de véhicules par rapport à son prix il est très bien fini, j'ai d'autres vidéos sur ce Duxter et j'ai essayé le Duxter prestige essence 150 ch boîte automatique, il est très confortable très bonne finition et niveau consommation très correcte. 👍👍

The rest will be interesting. More power in the Audi is not an advantage in uphill snow. The lighter, though less powerful Duster surely has the advantage uphill.
It's simple physics the duster is way lighter. Engine size won't matter when it comes to traction

This looks to be more like an Tire test, better tires my 2 wheel drive would go all the way up. Or Do You have exactly same kind of tires in both cars?
This reminds me of a similar test on Fifth Gear years back when a Range Rover and Fiat Panda competed off road. The Panda was a full 90 seconds faster round the course.

Do you have brain damage? A duster is just an alternative to public transport, and barely at that. Its nowhere near even being barely suited for any offroading, besides the ride height which is just a side effect of being cheap.

@@bonniebow245 put some actual Winter or Offroad tires on the Q7 and allseasons on the duster, reversing the setup, and you will get reverse results. Heck, do it with a Renault megane, a Mini, or a damn Golf. Allseasons and good Winter tires are a universe apart. I dont really like Q7s, really, but they are far far better than a duster can dream to be...

@@bonniebow245 they are not. The Audi is on allseasons, which can be seen clearly in the first few Minutes. If you call that a proper Winter tire, Im glad I never have to sit in your car.

На Ауди значительно резина шире,сопротивление больше,по снегу узкая лучше,режет снег как масло,широкая может по песку имеет преимущество,и по воде широкая быстрее улетает,аквапланирование,широкая резина больше для оптики и понтов хороша.

Eu am făcut muci un Duster, cu un Audi a6 allroad din 2004 2.5 180 cp, dacă ai gume bune pe mașina dusterul nare nici o șansă, dar depinde mult și de șofer acuma ca și concluzie se știe clar ca torsen ul e cel mai bun dar și Dacia are performante bune

@@Nate2Late If you are right why professionals who use to ride in winter rallys on ice and snow in Scandinavia ride only on extremely narrow tyres. Because narrower tire means more pressure on sguare cm and, as a result, gives more grip and less slippery.
