2. Canto Bello is from the Compositione di Messer Vicenzo Capirola, a group of original manuscripts housed at the Newberry Library, Chicago. It is Italian lute music from the late 1400’s to the early 1500’s before the printing press. The music was recorded by Doug Smith, Renaissance Lute, Rudy Bachelor, recording engineer in 2015. Canto Bello is an intabulation of a vocal work.
