Richard is one of this sort of artists, who appreciated by community not for himself as a person, but first as a musician. He chose the right way of self-representing - less interviews, less cameras, less media-activity. Just music, and this insane logo, which became a symbol of another wonderful way of creativity. Always step forward, always in the future.
I mean, his face alone is one of the most memorable things about him. Some of the most memorable branding you can think of.
The live facemapping video is still some of the coolest shit I've ever seen.
In other words, he's just an actual artist. A person who is appreciated by the public for "themselves" is called a celebrity. His is not "another wonderful way of creativity", it's just creativity, in all its glory. I think you're just too used to corporate products being sold as art.

Absolute bliss. Maybe it's just me but I always loved aphex for the harmonies and melodies first, and I kinda missed that aspect a bit in a lot of his recent work. This melody filled me with pure oldschool aphexian joy I haven't felt in a long time.

This man's music baffles me in the best way. I cannot describe it. You can tell that he is talented from the variety in his tracks. No matter if you're a 14 year old in 2022 getting into his music or been a fan since his debut all of those years ago, everyone seemd to have this same "yup. I know right. This stuff is effing awesome" appreciation 😂
this is SO good, omfg man, there are very few people who can make me genuinely blown away and swooning like this, and afx is one of them for sure. just insane the way it pushes and pulls and creates textures and shapes in your head that all just slot together perfectly like the most satisfying 3d puzzle, or whatever.

This is the best AFX record since forever! Art is best as weird and liminal combinations and juxtapositions of "contradictory" elements - discordant but not discordant - liminal harmony! Feels like a really unguarded but confident record - the melodies just hang and breath doing their thing.
