    All I ever hear from other music TH-camrs is how the Soprano saxophone is too difficult and should be avoided until you have several years of playing another saxophone. Explaining some of the things you need to be aware of when beginning on the soprano saxophone makes it a lot less intimidating. Thank you for this excellent presentation.

    Hi. Nice timbre. Would you please tell me what's your mouthpiece/reed setup?

  • @BigParadox
    @BigParadox 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Here is some useful information regarding playing in tune: When you put the mouthpiece onto the sax then the note height is affected by how much you slide the mouthpiece in or out. This is common knowledge. But what many don't know is that it also affects the intonation.
    So there is a certain mouthpiece position where the tuning is good, and there is a certain position where the intonation is good. On a well built instrument these two positions coincide.

    Before you go out and buy a soprano saxophone just rember this. Becourse of the small mouthpiece your jaw will start to hurt after long playing and as well your arms due to the position even when you use a neck strap.

    My personal opinion: Thomann's own brand is a cheap product from Asia. You hear it and you see it. No timbre, no substance, no soul. A cheap product from the Far East, made of cheap materials and also poorly processed. The horns leave the Thomann warehouse in the same condition as they were delivered from the factory in the Far East. Even the visit to the local woodwind instrument manufacturer for a review is a total economic loss. I don't know what Thomann paid the lady for that video. I would have been embarrassed, and I would have thankfully declined the assignment.
    👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

      Dear Mr. Runtschke,
      I’d like to thank you for leaving the comment and sharing your Humble opinion on this horn, or Thomann’s horn in general. This video is navigated and focused a bit more on what a Beginner player can start with if they have a certain budget for buying a brand new instrument. As you said it yourself, you get what you see and hear. So I’d clarify that as a very individual choice.
      Btw, I’m not embarrassed at all, on the contrary, exploring different brands of horns, it’s quite a journey!
      Take care! x

Since we also have our in-house workshop and service center, we would love to put our hands on it and find out why you're not happy and how we can fix this. Please send an email to marketing@thomann.de including the invoice such as customer number. We'll then get back to you to discuss the next steps asap. All the best
