The short answer: Someone thought it would look cool.
The technical excuse for the above: They're batteries meant to allow the mech to go into an overdrive mode of sorts, similar to how the pilot himself did early in the series. Incidentally, it involved his hair as well.
I love how whenever everything gets crazy, they roll the theme song. XD

Genesic Gaogaigar is by far one of the best units in the game, excellent defence, good evasion, awesome attack and can share his protect shade whith others.
Gaogaigar show is highly recommended for everyone.
Yeah! I can't wait for SRW W. Voltron, GaoGaiGar, and Getter: my favorite combining robots in one game.
With a rendition of the Goldion Hammer that's rediciously awesome.

EXACTLY! The new Super TTGL-Giga Drill Breaker (Yes it does one) would be its ultimate attack, and it would utterly RAEP everything.
Fun fact about the Goldion Crusher: it can get an attack power of 10300 in Special Mode.

It is difficult to predict, only for certain that they would probably like to keep their OGs exclusively for Z, so perhaps its more similar to Alpha's Cobray where he makes a cameo in the OG-verse, but not fully.

In the GaoGaiGar Final when Gai finally gets Genesic GaoGaiGar he fights Palparepa who thanks to Pisa Sol can infinetely regenerate so towards the end of the fight GaoGaiGar is battle damage to all hell and Gai is bloody yet he still kicks ass because HE'S THE KING OF BRAVES!
GaoGaiGar isnt typical,most animes are like that yes,but this goes into from destroying earth,to using dark matter just to recreate a galaxy(Dark matter may sound evil,but its not being used for destroying universes...),not wanting to destroy anything,but 3G are getting in their way,so they have to.
No, theres actually a super robot rule list. rule number 1 is actually:
"Courage can turn 0% into 100%" which could kinda be translated into do not fuck with gaogaigar ANYWAY, given the huge courage obsession.
i've never seen the anime, but why is it that for most of the attacks the pilots face is all bloodied up?
(Destruction is a new start from zero,it is that of which can stop Recreation,Its a challenge that Infinite Possibilty brings.)

According to the series guidebook, TTGl may have existed in Super Spiral Space, but it WAS 10 BILLION lightyears in length.
Forgot a few. The big ship is the Pia Decem Pit, and the cube guys are...they're from GGG, but I forgot the name, actually...

So true! I remember how much mecha anime were made in my childhood! And now? There arent so many of them anymore. Id really like the "Golden Age" of mecha anime to comeback. 1995- that was the best time for mechas... EVA, GaoGaiGar, Nadesico... so many amazing titles were made back then...

Getter Emperor is the same size scale, much smaller, but big enough to put up a fight. Makes a lot of sense when you realize Getter Robo's ideas would later go to Inspire Gurren Lagann.

@Latooni11 One year later, Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann is announced for SRW Z2, Part 1.
The typical three year limit on robot shows to premiere in SRW is almost up for Gurren Lagann. Which means soon, we can all have that wonderful dream crossover. I hope so anyways.
About episode 4 of GGG Final, but since this is a battle game...the rest are still in there as soldiers.

That's why, I said that Japanese are good in presenting those reused idea. I say GGG is typical because it present reused plot of giant robot versus monster army. The spices that they add to the plot like, earth/galaxy destruction, fight to death, super OP finisher, super GAR main pilot, super cool design put them on another new level and completes it. It's super good but typical. And typical it not always means boring. maybe I should say common instead of typical...
The fact is that FINAL took these threads, and made the threat VERY real. The good guys effectively LOST up until Genesic Hit the scene, and for what it's worth - only two people returned from that incident...
I think there are a on-going sequel novel in Japan(that crossover with Betterman ) , as far as I remember there are a greater enemy that those two kid need to fight with the new robot army, while the GGG guys keeps fighting their way back to Earh

I think the term "little" is a bit of a understatment in this situation.
I think GL and Ideon are pretty much even matches. Ideon's most powerful weapons (Blackhole Cannon, Ide Missles, and Ide Sword) are easily equaled by Chouginga Gurren Lagaan's feats (remember, CGL is the size of THE MOON, which means those huge face things must be jupiter-sized). Ideon's final attack ISN'T an attack, and Ideon destroys itself when it does it: it's what happens when you punch up too much Ide Energy and overload it. GL Spiral Nemisis too, universe collapses.
Im suprised from all the yelling Guy has done. He haven't popped a vain yet lol

"Gar" is a popular suffix for robots like this. Maybe that's a hint to what it means, if anything.
"Gai" also has a number of possible meanings, but one can translate it (though figuratively) as "courage", so that could have had a hand in the use of the word as well, probably more so than it being Gai's name. It's likely why it's his name in the first place, though.

Actually it DOES matter.
The TTGL is simply so large that the matter it loses to the black hole before it moves away is so minuscule it doesn't really do damage.

Well in SRW @3 genesic gaogaigar is good on effects and with voices so cool but in SRW W other gaogaigar attacks has special final ending if it kills the target and the other attacks has extra too so SRW @3 and SRW W are even ^^.
If you could combine the two it's really fun with voices,grapichs and special final combo lol
I could believe it actually, Zeorymer kinda runs on the Power of RAPE (Litterly in the manga...)
Let's just say Goldymarg (Goldian Hammer part) never reached eps 3 of GGG FINAL.
