Actually there are only three times in the bible on homosexuality being sinful. Two are in the Old Testament and aren’t in the 10 commandments so you can’t use those. The only other thing about it is something Jesus said which is actually unclear as to whether it’s about homosexuality or something else. So no according to Christianity where the only moral lessons from the Old Testament are the 10 commandments and the rest comes from the New Testament it is very possible that there is no religious ban on homosexuality. Or even if it is sinful according to your religion, wearing wool and linen at the same time, therefore wearing jeans 👖 is sinful, but I doubt you have any objection to that or do you? If not then your doing what your accusing the Church of England of doing which is picking and choosing which parts of your religion you like and ignoring and not complying with the bits you don’t like.

Archbishop Welby is a typical fence-sitter. The oft quoted saying ‘ that all it requires for evil to triumph, is that good men do nothing’ certainly applies to the Archbishop of Canterbury. You cannot sit on the fence about something so important. It is a denial of Scriptural teaching and ultimately a denial of Christ! We do no one any favours by being woolly about these issues. I think it's a thorny issue. When people really, really want to do something, and don't feel it hurts anyone else, then they obviously want to put their own ideas of what is "right" and "wrong" before what they may consider sone obsolete, religious idea. The thing is, if the bible is to be believed, if God is real (and you are at liberty to believe or not to believe) then there are enough warning about our human ability not to know right from wrong, that our hearts are corrupt, that our hearts are wicked simply because we live in a fallen, sinful world. I'm very impressed when prominent representatives of the Anglican welcomes a discussion about same sex marriage, it can't be easy for them. He had twins by surrogate six years ago and in my friend they have the best father and they have so many who loves them in their life and I for one have never experienced more kind and well behaved children than them. They were warmly welcomed and baptised in the Swedish Church so forrunately they enjoy a warm Christian community. I bet none of the men in this segment would approve of my friend and his twins and that is so very sad because they deserve to be loved by Jesus Christ like everybody else. I don't know where people in Britain celebrate their big moments in life nowadays, in Sweden we still do it in Church and I believe it's because the Swedish Church took a stand for everyone's equality very early. If you're not allowed to get married in church because you are of the same sex, what are the odds then that you will bring your children to church, have them baptised there and have them take their first Communion there, have other relatives being buried in church, attend a sevice in church etc.? If a group of people are not welcome to the Anglican Church due to their sexual orientation, they will not show up with their families nor friends and the Anglican Church then risks to become an echo chamber of a museum only used for Royal weddings and funerals. I'm a heterosexual woman and I for one would not attend a church that makes a difference between people like that, it's a form of shaming and actually factually wrong because Jesus Christ made it clear that he loved everyone, Amen❤

Marriage under the church is a sacred sacrament that establishes a covenant with God that creates a trinitarian relationship with God, man, and woman. In genesis 1-2 woman was created from the rib of Adam so when they are married, they become one flesh. Marriage between man and woman creates another trinitarian relationship of Man, Woman, and child which represents the physical manifestation of the love between man and woman. In Same sex union there is no real product of the relationship. Civil marriages establish legal and tax status only, while the marriage sacrament establishes a holy covenant. Its not the same thing.

Actually there are only three times in the bible on homosexuality being sinful. Two are in the Old Testament and aren’t in the 10 commandments so you can’t use those. The only other thing about it is something Jesus said which is actually unclear as to whether it’s about homosexuality or something else. So no according to Christianity where the only moral lessons from the Old Testament are the 10 commandments and the rest comes from the New Testament it is very possible that there is no religious ban on homosexuality.

Archbishop Welby is a typical fence-sitter. The oft quoted saying ‘ that all it requires for evil to triumph, is that good men do nothing’ certainly applies to the Archbishop of Canterbury. I think it's a thorny issue. When people really, really want to do something, and don't feel it hurts anyone else, then they obviously want to put their own ideas of what is "right" and "wrong" before what they may consider sone obsolete, religious idea.
The thing is, if the bible is to be believed, if God is real (and you are at liberty to believe or not to believe) then there are enough warning about our human ability not to know right from wrong, that our hearts are corrupt, that our hearts are wicked simply because we live in a fallen, sinful world. If we fully believe the bible, then we also know there are spiritual forces that really do desire our destruction, and delight in using our own weaknesses against us.
Therefore, those of us who know and love God, need to stick close to His standards and what He says is good. He doesn't say something is wrong just to ruin our lives or because he's a tyrant - it's someone with very poor theological understanding who thinks that - God's plan is for our very, very best. If a man lying with another man isn't for our very best, then it will, somewhere along the line, cause damage. We might not be able to see it because we are limited creatures, that's where faith comes in.

I'm very impressed when prominent representatives of the Anglican welcomes a discussion about same sex marriage, it can't be easy for them. Ultimately they would have to accept it like it's done in most parts of the civilized world and why? If you preach love and compassion then everyone you preach to has to be equally included in that message, otherwise you as a preacher have no credibility.
Why does the Anglican Church make the sex in order to procreate into the old chestnut that puts a stop to having same sex marriages accepted?🙄 It's a ridiculous standpoint since the reality is that most people have sex before marriage and not only with one partner in their entire life. Women have children through IVF and by surrogates, many men use surrogates too in order to have a family.
My best friend is a homosexual single man who always wanted to become a father. He's got a great job in finances and has made himself a very stable situation. He had twins by surrogate six years ago and in my friend they have the best father and they have so many who loves them in their life and I for one have never experienced more kind and well behaved children than them. They were warmly welcomed and baptised in the Swedish Church so forrunately they enjoy a warm Christian community.
I bet none of the men in this segment would approve of my friend and his twins and that is so very sad because they deserve to be loved by Jesus Christ like everybody else.
I don't know where people in Britain celebrate their big moments in life nowadays, in Sweden we still do it in Church and I believe it's because the Swedish Church took a stand for everyone's equality very early.
If you're not allowed to get married in church because you are of the same sex, what are the odds then that you will bring your children to church, have them baptised there and have them take their first Communion there, have other relatives being buried in church, attend a sevice in church etc.? If a group of people are not welcome to the Anglican Church due to their sexual orientation, they will not show up with their families nor friends and the Anglican Church then risks to become an echo chamber of a museum only used for Royal weddings and funerals.

I am glad someone is saying that in the Bible GOD told us that marriage is only between a man and a woman and doing otherwise will have terrible consequences. People wake up before it is too late, you can only be saved if you accept Jesus while alive. The lake of fire was made for the angels and not for people but whoever does not accept Jesus will receive God's wrath and join the Angeles in Gahanna the lake of fire.

The bible doesn’t change, the Lord hasn’t changed. What was wrong for Sodom and Gomorrah still stands as wrong today. It is the Church’s job to uphold these teachings from the Lord.

Marriage under the church is a sacred sacrament that establishes a covenant with God that creates a trinitarian relationship with God, man, and woman. In genesis 1-2 woman was created from the rib of Adam so when they are married, they become one flesh. Marriage between man and woman creates another trinitarian relationship of Man, Woman, and child which represents the physical manifestation of the love between man and woman. In Same sex union there is no real product of the relationship. Civil marriages establish legal and tax status only, while the marriage sacrament establishes a holy covenant. Its not the same thing.
God's truth is the same yesterday, today, and forever. There is nothing arrogant in asserting this. What about the pain and distress on God's heart when his people turn their back on his truth. Has the Bishop of Oxford considered that?

Why do same sex people want a wedding? They can have a civil partnership, which is legally binding. Marriage is surely a partnership to ensure a safe haven for bringing children into the world. Same sex people cannot have a child of their own union... fact. The whole 'we demand' thing strikes me as a childish stamping of the feet and spitting out of dummies. As in....I demand you make me important! If you are going through a ceremony to join you with your love...then what's wrong with the civil partnership???

I'm sure this man has read Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6, 1 Timothy 1, Jude and the words of Jesus in Mark 10.
