Truck ride home along route 66, day 1

This is part one of three videos I made during this trip.
We drove along route 66 from the Santa Monica Pier to just past Albuquerque New Mexico. Day one (which is this video) took us all the way to Flagstaff AZ.
We spent a lot of time in the High Desert of California. That desert has an official name, it's the Mojave Desert. Death Valley is here, and that explains a lot. As luck would have it we traveled through there during a record breaking heat wave that happened all along the southwest of the US in mid July.
Once we left the Santa Monica Pier we were immediately hit with a famous southern California traffic jam. That traffic lasted all the way through Downtown LA on Hywy-10 to Rancho Cucamonga. We picked up route 66 there and found a couple cool things before jumping on Hywy 15 into the Mojave Desert. We saw a lot of neat things on this adventure. I hope you guys enjoy them as we did.
