Truck ride home along route 66 Day 3
The truck finally was finished on Tuesday at 4:30. We stayed one more night in the El Rancho and on Wednesday morning we set out on the last leg of our Rout 66 adventure. I took a few clips of the hotel during our stay and have put some into this video. We left at 8:00 am on Wednesday and made our way to the Musical Highway. This was a pretty cool thing. We did it twice because its so cool... and because I couldn't stay on the rumble strip the first time.
After we left the Musical Highway we headed out to I-40 again and pointed the truck eastward. A few miles eastward found us at Santa Rosa NM and the end of our Rt-66 adventure for this trip. We needed leave I-40/Rt-66 and start heading south towards Interstate 10, which runs along the southern boarder. We spent one more night away from home at a friends house in Spicewood TX. (Thanks for your hospitality guys). The next morning found us looking at a 775 mile ride to our Florida driveway. I have made the remainder of our rider into a montage of the State Line Signs between Texas and Florida to finish out.
The whole trip was a lot of fun... even with the extended stay in Gallup NM. I would do it again...
Thanks for adventuring with us.
Enjoy !

Day 2 find us in Flagstaff AZ. After a wonderful breakfast with some family members we found our way back to the Rt 66 adventure. The first stop this morning is a little town called Willians. We really enjoyed walking around this place. Flagstaff AZ is a great jumping off point for a number of very cool thing to see and do in this area. This is part one of three videos I made during this trip. We drove along route 66 from the Santa Monica Pier to just past Albuquerque New Mexico. Day one (which is this video) took us all the way to Flagstaff AZ. We spent a lot of time in the High Desert of California. That desert has an official name, it's the Mojave Desert. Death Valley is here, and that explains a lot. As luck would have it ...

During the last weeks of December we headed to Miami for a cruise into the Caribbean. The cruise was fantastic and we had a blast. During our Spain trip this past spring Darlene put together a day trip for a friend and me. All we knew of this place was what I could find on the internet. The online brochures said it was about a 7-to-8-kilometer hike. I would say that estimate is a little low. We had a bit of a rough start, but it turned out to be a great hiking adventure. Nothing real tough as far as hiking goes. I would hi...

Welcome to Sitka Alaska; This past summer Darlene and I took the grandkids and spent a week in the quaint little town of Sitka Alaska. One of the adventures we had in Spain was this very interesting city of Ronda. A very historic old bullfighting arena, the super cool Puente Nuevo bridge that crosses over a 390 foot chasm. We were able to spend a couple days in Rome. While there we visited the Colosseum and toured the inside as well as walking around the outside. I stayed a couple more years because I had a job at ALP. In 1975 at the age of 21 I decided to follow the family and headed south as well. I've only been back a few time to visit, but growing up there has always been such an amazing part of my life. You graduated in 76... @rideupsidevideoadventures3172 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for commenting. The drone does not have a microphone because all you would hear would be the 4 propellers screaming. All my drone flights are silent. Any sound that you hear is dubbed into the video when I edit it. Putting the ocean sounds into a drone flight is a bit of video trickery. I have 2 other videos on the channel where I fly over ocean like that. In those videos I left the music out and just put in ocean sounds. This is done by putting my camera and mic close to the shore line and recording about 10 minutes of video...and sound. In those two videos I manipulated the ocean sound volume depending on how high I was off the water or how far away I was from the shoreline. If you want to check those out they are " Long beach Washington camping, and the other is Glamping in Florida". I would like your thoughts on how those efforts worked out and if you feel that makes it seem more realistic. Thanks again for your comment.

Hi. Enjoyed the video! My wife and I are planning to visit Sitka this September. I would really like to do the Gavin Hill and/or Tabor Mountain hike but my wife is unable to hike. Is it safe to hike alone or could you possibly recommend a local person who might be up to join me on the hike?

    • @rideupsidevideoadventures3172

Gavin Hill was always less accessible as far as trails go. That may have changed in the 50 years since I actually lived there. Harbor Mountain will be very different. There is a dirt/gravel road that goes to the top, and then a very nice trail that goes to the very peak. The views of Sitka from there (peak) will be great. Don't forget your camera... Telephoto lens would be good also. Hope you have a great time. Thanks for your comments.
