    Watch the BBC first on iPlayer 👉 bbc.in/iPlayer-Home A Darwin's bark spider sprays a 25 metre bridging line across a river. From this silken thread - which is the toughest natural fibre on the planet - she will suspend her web.
    The contests between predators and prey are the most dramatic events in nature. The Hardest Challenge reveals the extraordinary range of techniques predators use to catch their prey - from a leopard using all its powers of stealth to stalk impala in broad daylight and wild dogs, whose tactic is to wear down their prey over long distances, to Nile crocodiles, the planet's most patient predators, and killer whales who use teamwork and intelligence to take on humpback whales. But even with these finely tuned strategies, the outcome is far from certain. Surprisingly, most predators fail most of the time.

    As amazing as this spider is, I can't help but feel in awe at how the hell these guys managed to find a spider and set up their cameras to get the action shots that they have here.

      A documentary camera team are usually filming for months and months and only a small percentage gets in the final cut.
      So that's how they managed to catch that. If they knew roughly where to look, odds are they'd see it happen at some point during their time there

      Who says it's the same spider and the same location on every shot? Can you? I can't. Surely not even the same day. They probably filmed several spiders spinning their webs (at least one in macro, one from the river bank and one from the air with a drone) and then edited the best shots to make viewers believe it's the same action.

      They lay eggs by literally the hundreds,You do nothing to the population by killing one spider,Hell by even killing 10 spiders you do nothing.

    • @HerrMann441
      @HerrMann441 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** "what your point you idiot." Either English is your first language or you are young. I am saying no need to have morals or "have a heart." As your juvenile response states. Your your whole people argument is invalid,Because we would not be good if we lost 90% of our population,Far from it. Killing one spider or even 10 would literally change nothing at all.

    • @Diamnds10
      @Diamnds10 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there's fair chance I'll contribute more to the world in my lifetime than a single spider, or even the hundreds of spiders I'm likely to kill in that time. :P
      Not to mention spiders can be dangerous, so I've got no crisis of conscience for killing as many of them as I see.

    • @njdejong
      @njdejong 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Extragorey spiders can be dangerous, but you're deadly seeing that you kill the ones you see, which are probably not even dangerous.

    • @Diamnds10

      Not the ones I see; the ones that come close to me. Just about any person or creature becomes defensive when backed into a corner.
