Ryanair flying to Salerno is going to benefit us so much, we usually fly to Lamezia Terme but it’s half the price to go to Salerno, albeit an extra hour travel for us to get to Calabria.
Salerno is great. I have been a few times now, and I will go back again. I took the train from Naples, and it was brilliant. I always google search the best places to eat. Yes I heard about the airport, good news. The ferry to other destinations is very good. Thank you for the video
My husband and I used buses to get from Solerno to Positano, and we were so bloody travel sick afterwards and exhausted 😶🥴. Never again. Also, they are unreliable, in my opinion. They don't keep to the timetable... And many bus stops don't have roofs/covers. We got so very soaked in Positano whilst waiting for the bus.... Anyways, other than this experience, we looooved the Amalfi coast and it's towns. Absolutely stunning.
Great video! I'm soon going to visit the amalfi coast and I find your videos very informative to watch! Do you recomend renting a vespa for a day for drive to for example Fiordo di Furore?
Thank you! A Vespa is an iconic experience but you’ve got to be confident riding it along the Amalfi Drive because it’s twisty and windy and the drivers are crazy 🤣
Thank you so much for the wonderdul insightful content! Would you say Salerno beaches are good and water is clean enough to swim? I am in between deciding for Salerno or Vietri as my base
I would say that the water in Salerno is ok but Vietri is better. That said though, Salerno has a lot more going on when it comes to things to do in the evening and during the day, compared to Vietri so I think it really depends on what you want from your holiday.
What's your favorite neighborhood in Salerno? I've been poking around on real estate websites putting in neighborhoods like "Centro Storico - Teatro Verdi" and "Pastena Alta" etc. I'm trying to get an idea of something walkable with lots of shops and things to do, but also close to transportation to go further afield (Salerno's train station is very conveniently located to the Corso)
My two favorites and where I used to live - Carmine and Irno. Both with their own local shops and neighborhood and both within easy walking distance of the main corso and train station
Salerno rocks ! More turtles 🐢 ! Amalfi / positano are great as well , in the fall, winter ,early spring only good in the summer if you want to understand how sardines live
Do you recommend renting a private boat in Salerno to visit the Amalfi coast, if yes, which one, and do we need to reserve in advance? Thank you, your videos are all wonderful!!!!
I actually recommend taking the ‘boat taxi’ TravelMar. The link is in this video - purely because it’s the most economical way to explore Amalfi by sea. Private boat hire can be very costly particularly in the Summer months
The new airport will be excellent for me from Gatwick because I normally either drive from Napoli or the train down to Calabria getting off at praia mare excellent videos Claire 👍👌
Hi, I have been trying to connect with you to have a consult/chat about living in Italy, but your email address has kicked me emails back. How can I best contact you? Thanks!

My Family is from Salerno, I love it there, need to go more often. My tip, don't forget to validate your train ticket before you get on your train.

@@MsBritaly thank you!
You're now a sort of expert of South Italy tourism. British expats seem very good in doing that here in Italy.
Ah thanks!
Beautiful SALERNO❤

Hi Nancy - I’ve received your email - thank you for letting me know. I’ll be replying later
I don't understand why the city of Salerno shouldn't be "safe"...I don't think it's in Syria or the Gaza strip! 😂
I think it’s a sensible question though - people want to know about their personal safety ahead of travel
