This is the comment I've been looking for, for a long ass time lol I've been trying to do the same exact thing as you cause I thought, hmmm.... It is pure copper not cca and it's way cheaper as Well, & honestly I think it might be better like maybe a better quality copper wire cause ya know, it's for welding. Only thing I was worrying about is that the insulation is thick as hell and not no quite as flexible as specifically car audio cable
I use sky high ,, they were out of 1/0 ofc,,, I shopped Down for sound, Dropping hurts,Sonic,,OMA,, so I tried a new brand for the money,,,RHINO WIRE ,, nicest wire I've bought yet
Food for thought,, I was using 2/0 cca,, 4, XS batteries in the back,, I noticed the charge was getting low after a few weeks,, changed it to the 1/0 ofc no problems now 13.5 @rest
I was just about to order a cheap big 3 kit for 40$ from Amazon but then my buddy said cheap wire is the main cause of fires and doesn't produce as much power so I'm just gonna buy 20 foot of 100 percent copper wire for 65$ and use that for the big 3
I love how you say measurements. Never heard someone say it like that!! 🤣 Not tryna make fun of you or hate bro. I absolutely love your content an support you so much in your journey to get to what you want wether it's taking a break from car audio...but plz don't leave us!! Family first but don't leave us!? 😔🤣
I ran two 4awg power wires to each of my amps JP8 +JP84. Then, I ran a 4awg ground from the battery to a distribution block, then to each amp. I don't like scraping the paint, and putting screws through the body or drilling through the body to try to get to the frame. I've never had a ground problem that way. But do you think I'd be better with a 0awg for power instead of two 4awg? 🤔
Yes, strand count and insulation thickness has a big role and vary between manufacturers. The higher the strand count and thinner the insulation coating the better.
@@NextLevelCarAudio okay next question I have a kicker 1200.1 kx 2013 running it in a benz 03 e class it keeps cutting out at when I turn up all the way up . Using stock radio and in line inverter to keep factory radio and add a amp . I'm using house rcas with yellow taped off
@@NextLevelCarAudio nice I was there both year's and this year. I've been watching your videos alot lately and I saw chinook winds in the background on one of your videos.
@@NextLevelCarAudio if you go next year I definitely want a demo. I live in that area. I'm on my way to the expo center in Portland right now, they are having a car show put on by hot import nights. It goes from 5pm-11
Thank you for that! I did not check as i made this video on the fly. Lol. I figured people could do their own research on price and what they wanted to buy based off that. Appreciate it!
@@NextLevelCarAudio I ended up getting both, one I thought was ofc but it wasn't. The real ofc is much better, but really the ccf seems fine for my small system. I'm saving the ofc stuff for when I do the big 3.
That sku high is thicker. You were alittle of with the measurement because the micrometer was not directly up an down on the meat of the wire. it was off center so it was reading alil smaller even tho it won anyway.
I use welding cable for power and ground. It's OFC and cost a lot cheaper
That is a good option

as soon as you mentioned the certified bass head wire went to down for sound shop and bought my power wire from there
Hell yeah man, is legit good stuff
How is it holding up man
Great

Everyone has their own preferences mine has been SHCA OFC. Jon Rabe and the guy's get it out quickly and fast delivered
That’s cool
When they have the colors you want in stock. Its always out of stock in 2/0 xl

If your not getting excessive voltage drop and it works then leave it. But 1/0 is the standard id wire with
👍 Thanks for making the video, very helpful 👍
You bet
I'm glad that I watched your video. I was gonna buy some off the website
Thanks for the feedback
Can we use normal, 10 mm electrical, copper wire available in local market for powering mono car amplifier from 12 volts car battery inside the car ?
Thanks for the info
Sure thing
What brand do u recommend?
sky high or d4s
Is there difference between expensive ofc 0 gauge wire and expensive 0 gauge wire.? Asking for my kicker amp.
Yes, strand count and insulation thickness has a big role and vary between manufacturers. The higher the strand count and thinner the insulation coating the better.
@@NextLevelCarAudio expensive and cheap ofc 0 gauge wire ^. Thank you in advance you're the best.
Yes. Expensive will have thinner insulation and higher strand count. Cheaper will typically have thicker insulation with less actual wire.

Just added 0 gauge wire awg rockford fosgate for power and ground.
I use Stinger alot because that's mainly what people sell in my area what are your guys opinion
Stinger is good, reputable and have been proven over the years. Never tried it personally tho!
Stinger is legit, been around since about the 80s or so😎
sky high is actually rated for 50 more amps then typical 1/0
What year we're you at surf city sound off?
2019 and 2020. Did not go this year.

Nice. Yeah, I’ll probably go next year
Yo whats the diffrence between 4gauge 0gauge etc
Lower the gauge, the more copper/higher strand count. More potential power delivery
Sky high is $4 a foot ad D4S is $3.99 a foot

Which is better
Can i isd cca for ground?
Yes you can. Just not as good as OFC
Is welding 2/0 ofc I hear it's not that it's just pure copper
Usually yeah, it’s just pure copper
The difference between OFC and non OFC is miniscule, less than 1%.
For a 600 watt amp, does it really matter if I get ofc vs cca as long as its 4 gauge?
Not really.... in all honesty
@@NextLevelCarAudio awesome, thank you. Thats what I was hoping to hear lol.
You bet
If that’s true then they would not produce it. It’s for people that want to save a few bucks
