JHud will also be bringing live music back to the world famous Apollo Theatre on August 19th for their first show back! I had the greatest privilege of seeing the Queen of Soul perform in Toronto in the mid-80’s. Jennifer Hudson is her reincarnate - they both give me chills. We are so very lucky to have you Ms. Hudson and I know Ms. Franklin agrees. Cannot wait to see the movie.

FINALLY!!!! Some recognition for a brilliant film, a brilliant script, and an iconic cast! Who would have ever imagined Queen Latifah had the talent and depth to nail that role?
@@MadredeAgua9 - It’s one of the very few that I felt really captured the sentiment of the book, at least very nearly. But it was a wonderful film, regardless! And Queen Latifah has always been a stellar actress, even back in the day when she was only offered comedic roles…even in “Hairspray!” She was the best part of it.

I just came back from the theatre to watch Respect. Wow! I played the album Amazing Grace on my way back home. It felt as if the movie was still continuing in my car. God's spirit met me there. Jennifer did an amazing job as Ms. Franklin. Bring some kleenex.

Aretha franklin was and is a legend, especially for us detroiters! I was lucky enough to graduate at what is now the aretha franklin stadium downtown. Magical moment and a wonderful thing for her legacy.
