    Ned,
Hello, and happy fourth of July, I'm sure your out there just killing it with the crowd. Ive binged watched your uploads when I found your channel a couple years back. I immediately subbed, and have been a fan since. You are the perfect example of patience, procedure, and most of all craftsmanship. You are a cognitive, which means you see everything different than many many ppl. You also have the ability to see things others dont, this is all factual, you can see it in every one of your videos. That I respect more than anything, a master at his craft.
I have an 8yr old autistic son who is just now able to watch fireworks, and it means the world to me. It reminds me of my childhood, I'm 40, and the feeling of the fourth was magic back then. I want him to feel that too, make memories that he's not scared of but enjoys. The loud bangs used to make him lose it and we would have to leave, now he's giving it a shot, and I'm so proud of my boy, so very proud. Hes knocking down walls, and that gives me hope.
All that being said, I was wondering if you do any commission with customers? Obviously the fourth is past for him this year, but there is always next. If you would be willing to talk with me, and maybe come up with a few awesome ideas I would appreciate it so much. If not I understand that too, and will hold no ill will whatsoever, I will still avidly watch your uploads. Thank you for you time, hope you and your family are safe and healthy.
    With regards,
    Matt

Hi, Matt. Thanks for the kind words. Man, that sounds like great breakthroughs with your boy. Congrats. I'm sure it's a worry and a challenge. I'd recommend seeing out a good local pyro guild to get involved with. Where are you located. Keep supporting your boy. You'll never regret it. Time passes quickly, and hopefully he'll be out on his own and doing well before you know it.

I'm situated in upstate NY, just outside of albany. Thanks for your response, I just want him to enjoy his early years, like all children should. Ned, your interest in my post is amazing. I knew I judged you correctly, not that I judge anyone. You know good ppl when you know( sorry about that, it's just universal in my opinion). Just want him to be as excited as I was at 8.
I can't express how awesome it is to get a response like yours, it absolutely warms my heart. Thank you for your kind words also!
Patrick's breakthroughs are such a big step for him. He is just a great kid, and I want him to enjoy as much as possible. If in the future you can steer me towards someone you trust and know to produce something he will like, I would be in your debt, def owe you one!
People like you are refreshing in a world of unknowns, thank you from the bottom to the top of my heart. Your a true gentleman.
      With regards,
      Matt

Matt, we're on great-grandchildren now, and, man, we only want great things for the generations who follow us. Sometimes it's a challenge, but our attention and love make a big difference in their lives. I know some folks in upstate New York, ad there are some regional guilds up in that area. New Hampshire has a club, and the Crackerjacks might have some relatively close events. Take a look at the Fairy Fountain project on the Home Page of Fireworking.com. You don't have to subscribe to see that whole project. Then, the whole Fireworking 101 course is available for free right here in my TH-cam channel. Check it out, and enjoy. Hug your boy. It's good for both of you.

      Ned,
Thank you so much, your a wonderful person. Thank you for all the info, and I will absolutely check them out. I appreciate content that is educational, and yours is just that! My son's are the world to me, I have a 16yr old too. Had him when I was younger(22).
Again thank you for your response, your an example of how TH-cam should be. You respond and for that I'm I feel you mean what you say, that's that. Ned, keep you uploads coming, I really enjoy your tutorials.
      Gratefully yours,
      Matt

And this prime can be ignited with flash powder?

I know you get a lot of questions and cannot answer them all. That's okay. I'll try though. About what percent by mass of the stars do you think your prime takes on? Evidently for most it appears to be trial and error of just laying it down until it is good enough. Perhaps a percent mass measure is not a good enough all-around measure for consistent results. You have different stars, different primes, different shapes, etc. Though, my intuition tells me perhaps 15-20% star weight.

If i dont have a license. Is it legal to make fireworks for my own use in the USA?

    • @nedgorski
      @nedgorski  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Federal regulations, per the ATF, say it is legal to make fireworks for your own personal use, and fire them on that same property, without an ATF license or permit. It is not legal to transport them on a public road without an ATF permit or license, though. The fireworks must be stored "in conformity" with ATF specifications. Local and/or state law may differ from that, though, so you'd have to research those laws to determine what they will allow.

Put the prime on a peace of kraft paper and diaper the stars onto it, Its way simpler and allows you to control how much prime you put in per batch. And no prime will be chipped off.
