    Hi Guys!!!
This video introduces the process of crafting a earring using cloisonne technique.
    ▶General Product Information
It is an accessory that will not fade away even after 100 years and is covered with the finest colors.
As cloisonne enamel is made from pottery, it does not fade or change the color semi-permanently. The deep colors of Owari cloisonne are unique and can only be expressed by the layers of glaze and the repetitive firing process. This would be great gift option for your important person on special day!
    ▶Craftsman Passion
"Pursuing the ultimate beauty that fits in the palm of your hand."
I hope you will feel the preciousness of the amazing handiwork packed into a palm-sized piece of art. I hope you will feel even a small part of the heyday of cloisonné enamel art.
Please enjoy watching the Japanese craftsmanship!!!!

Cloisonné has a long history and is known to have been made in ancient Egypt.
From the 6th century to the 9th century, it was actively made in parts of Western Europe as a substitute for jewelry.
Cloisonné techniques then entered China via the Silk Road, and were introduced to Japan around 750 AD.
It wasn't until the Keicho era (1596-1615) that technology developed significantly.
At the end of the Tokugawa era, Owari Cloisonné came into being, and cloisonné production rapidly became popular.
The foundation of the current cloisonné technique was established around this time.
Since then, through the efforts of many people and over many years, it has now established its status as one of Japan's representative traditional crafts.

This is beautiful enamel work but not what is considered to be cloisonné by definition. Cloisonné utilizes closed spaces created by bending thin metal strips into various shapes and affixing them to a base. These spaces are then filled with enamel paste and the piece is fired in a kiln. These closed spaces are called cloisons (French for “partitions”). This enamel work has no such closed spaces, therefore it should not be properly called cloisonné, but is enamel work of another style. I myself make cloisonné jewelry and this is not it. Nonetheless, I find this jewelry beautiful. As the entire piece is outlined with metal and then filled in with enamel, the entire piece might be considered one cloison. However, cloisonné typically consists of a larger space subdivided by,cloisons, so calling this cloisonné is really perverting/stretching the proper definition.

It's probably a translation error. There is a company in Kyoto, called Inabi Enamels, that makes very nice cloissonné vases. Their work is not like European cloissonne. It uses a lot of short pieces of fine Silver cloissonne wire which mostly don't form closed areas. They blend a lot of different colors like this craftsman is doing. The resulting product is very beautiful and is very expertly done. I have done a lot of Silver work and enameling, including cloissonne. I visited Inabi in 1987 and was invited to work in their shop.

I thought cloisonné was using metal to make the designs and filling them in with different colors of enameling.

Agreed. This is not cloisonné enamelling as there are no 'cloissonnes' (literally 'partitions' in French). It may be a Japanese mistranslation thing though.

Realmente, me alegro que los japoneses no hayan ganado la guerra : imaginen un mundo dominado por estos maniacos obsesivos que creen que las cosas sólo salen bien si son lentas, difíciles y tortuosas....
By the way, esas piezas se ven interesantes sólo como señuelos de pesca..... Como joyeria, vean lo que logran los franceses de la escuela clásica.....

I’m confused as well. Isn’t cloisonné about added wires. I kept expecting to eventually see them introduced.

While these are beautiful, how are they considered cloisonné without the wire work?
