Rapid River, a song recorded in a studio,will sound different. On the other hand the equipment used go play the music has also changed over the years. That could account for the difference.

@@tonyjensen3699 Yeah, he was too young at the time they were already recording hits. However, in early 1988, Barry, Robin, and Maurice announced that Andy would be joining the Bee Gees which would have made them a four-member group. Tragically, he passed away soon after.

The real tragedy is the loss of Maurice and Robin and the end of the Brothers Gibb as we knew them. Barry soldiers on, still writing and performing and their enormous talent has filled our days and nights with their music and harmony for fifty years. Thank you for the music and the memories.

I was 11 yrs old on my first flight from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 to Orlando FL for March break with my parents & sister. Before we took off the flight attendant gave me a plastic package that had disposable headphones inside & said hey sweetie, if you’re nervous about flying you can listen to some music to make you relax. This was my 1st time ever using headphones & I listened to the songs 🎧 through the headphones on the plane! ✈️ The 3 songs on rotation were Tragedy, Staying alive & How deep is your love. I’m 56 yrs old now & I remember it like yesterday! I was so scared on the plane but I just kept listening to the songs until we landed & that was the day I fell in love ❤ with the Bee Gees, every time I hear 1 of the songs I’m transported instantly to being that terrified 11 yr old girl on a plane & discovering the Bee Gees! Nothing has ever had such a profound effect on ever like hearing those beautiful voices sing such amazing songs! What more can I say other than I get goosebumps when I hear those powerful, angelic voices 45 years later ❤🙏🏼🎸🌹🤗🥰🇨🇦❤️
Tragedy is one of those amazing minor key anthems. It's Rock, it's Disco, it's edgy. They don't make them like this anymore.

It's called Falsetto, and it's actually pretty easy to pull off, once ya know how to do it. How I learned was by singing along with female singers- (normally, with mid-ranged, Mezzo-soprano voices), and I listened very carefully to the notes they were singing, and I tried to match them in their register, until eventually, it became pretty much as easy as singing in me natural Baritone range. All I can say is that, as opposed to belting them high notes, you've gotta come at 'em from a completely different angle, in order to achieve Barry's style of singing- (much lighter and breathier), and don't try and "reach" or "hit" the notes what he's hitting or higher. Instead, let your voice glide up there, like a kite in the wind, and try and imagine it doing so. Your voice is a kite in the wind, gliding up to them high notes absolutely effortlessly. That's a little tip what I was given by my old vocal-coach. So first things first: pick a female artist who ya really admire- (not a major low-voiced one, and preferably, not too high, to kick off with- that comes later, once you're more experienced at singing all the way up there!) Preferably, pick out a mid-range female singer, and a song with some good, high notes- (but not ridiculously high!) I suggest giving 'Show Me Heaven' by Maria McKee, 'Alone' by Heart and 'China in your Hand' by T'Pau a go. Listen to the songs a few times, then, imagine your voice going light as a feather- (which, for the record, means taking all the tension out of it completely, due to the fact that never in a month of Sundays are ya gunna be able to hit them desired notes if you've got so much as an ounce of bloody tension in your voice- it ain't gunna happen!) The way I would suggest doing this is using a little technique what I call "mind over matter." Don't think of yourself as a bloke, who's trying to sing in a girl's voice, and think: "Shit! I really wanna make them high notes, but because I'm a bloke, I dunno if I can!" Instead, try thinking of yourself as a twelve-year-old girl, and sing the song how you'd imagine that little girl singing it- (that mindset should help to relieve the tension in your throat quite a bit and make your voice light enough to get you up to them sort of notes with ease!) Get yourself into character and become that twelve-year-old girl, in your head. I find that helps me a hell of a lot, when I wanna sing Falsetto. Got that?! You're no longer a bloke, you're now a twelve-year-old girl! Next step: once you've relaxed your throat completely, then you're ready to practice singing in a woman's range- (Falsetto), but like I said before, keep it as light as a feather when ya do, as if you was a little girl, singing a lullaby to a tiny baby- (remember, "Kite in the wind"!) Good luck, old son. Peace and love, brother. Be lucky.

WOW, I never got to meet the three Gibb brother's but I did get to meet Andy. I can't believe how time goes bye! I spent five years in Australia when my father was transferred due to business.I was fortunate enough to get to know Andy Gibb. We actually "hung-out" for two years and then circumstances, as they may be, changed and my father was re-located to the USA. We spent quite a bit of time together as his music career was expanding. Hanging around together gave me an opportunity to meet a lot of girls! Andy knew many girls because of his early "stardom." Well, as fate has it sometimes, I had to move away with my Father and never got to see Andy again. In all honesty, I would not have had the opportunity anyway since (as we all know) he passed away tragically. I had lot's of fun with him. Typically, I nicknamed him "Gibby!" I miss dear Andy! I'm sure he's serenading all the beautiful angels in heaven...RIP Andy!

+john kelly Actually, in some big documentary about the Bee Gees, they addressed that myth. He died of a heart disease that he already had. The drugs didn't help, but it went undiagnosed and would've got him anyway. He had actually cleaned up when it happened. And the others were about to pull him into the group full time. And they also addressed where there name came from. They had a producer with a last name that started with a B and another with a G. They just threw em together as a sort of tribute. I need to find this thing and watch it again. It was on in 2010.
Could be. But it's hard to tell. People die all the time of heart disease. Some with or without drugs. It doesn't really sugar coat much because his brothers still knew he was hard into drugs and still didn't like the ex of his that helped keep him fixated on them. They themselves still blamed the drugs. Oh well.
