We don't want experience of Authors. I want simple, unfiltered translation of Krishna's words. I'm sure krishna was enough experienced that we don't need adulteration in his words.
The thing is when we were kid we go to school, we get tutions. You know why ? Because we are not that much knowledgeable or mature that we can understand the essence. So, it is very important to read commentaries along with translation.

Acharya's prashant commentary is way better and relates to normal day problem that we face. He is practical.

It's not hard to understand the Gita if you have a proper guru and accept what Krishna says directly and that is what Srila Prabhupada's Gita is. A pure presentation that anyone who is really sincere will accept without any foolish ideas. Krishna says that on should ultimately surrender to Him as He is and as He as presented Himself. IF someone is giving some alternate idea then they are misleading.

Bhakti Yoga is good, however, it does not mean we can change the meaning of original text and translate BuddhiYog into BhaktiYoga. There are enough shloka for Bhakti in Bhagwat Geeta. With all respect to Iskon, I totally disagree on this point as a yoga sadhak. Krishna Bhagwan has clearly mentioned what BuddhiYoga is...BuddhiYog and BhaktiYog are two separate paths and need to be respected equally as they are meant for people of various nature and at various levels of evolution. Bhagwat Geeta talks about BhaktiYoga and GyanYoga....finally they merge into the same reality. However, this does not mean we discard one and overlap with the other, it will be against the teachings of Bhagwan Krishna.

You have no idea. What is to be gained from vedas. From eons of lighting fire and worshipping trees. Worshipping river and sun. The bhakti yog to Lord Krishna Ram Vishnu is the final essence. Many many perfect yogis conclusion is this. Devraha baba is a perfect example. Pahadi baba parampara is perfect example. 3rd Pahari baba used to say, Ant mein sab ko Ram Ram hi karna hai. Siddhi viddhi bekar hai.
Many yogis who are inclined to Dhyana yoga do bhakti mixed with dhyana yoga. Many examples.
However if you have a liking for gyan yoga, we do spend a lot of time studying Gita from many angles and meanings. Meaning of God's word are infinite.
No one can really do dhyana yoga or gyana yoga where it would bear any effect. The people are lazy, quarrelsome and full of vices.
Fastest and most effect is bhakti yoga. That's it.
BTW if you do not want to subscribe to Bhakti yoga interpreatation then better not buy the book from any Sampradaya of bhakti yoga. Mind you the founders of Gita press were also bhakti yogis.

The name of this book shouldn't be bhagwat Geeta as it is. It should be bhagwat Geeta by Srila prabhupada 😂. This is what I have understood in this video.

You buy bhagavad gita from gita press also but still most people get lost in it because to understand bhagavad gita you should first understand what kind of person krishna was krishna was an existential philosopher and dynamic by nature. Then you should also know the meaning of the words bhakti doesn't only means devotion it also means dedication. From nowadays perspective people say work with focus back then they used to say bhakti se seeko. Meanings of words also have changed alot. Krishna's message about becoming bhakti yogi, gyan yogi, raj yogi, karma yogi is not about worshipping him or any superconcious god and all. Krishna was a extremely diplomatic and practical person. Krishna put more force on karma yoga that is action because if you become karma yogi you can become gyani yogi bhakti yogi raj yogi simultaneously. Take a look at this you learn a skill through action within some time of practicing you will learn and acquire knowledge about the skill here you became gyan yogi. And as you start learning you become better enjoy it and enter flow state here you became bhakti yogi because you became dedicated to the work. Then also while learning you go through personal internal transformation where the skill gets encoded in your brain and memories where you became raj yogi. By taking action you are already a karma yogi. That was that all about. To learn about krishna and his way of thinking i recommend you to read deep trivedi books and his youtube videos are worth watching.

Most of the places everything you hear about krishna is oh he was god and blah blah and this is a insult to krishna's effort because you are ignoring the hardship he went through you are ignoring the intelligence he used to win over his enemies etc so. Yes. I have read iskon bhagvadgita as it is and it's perfect for me. Srila Prabhupada did it because other bhagvadgita didn't have focused on main point , many bhagvadgita didn't even mentioned bhaktiyog which was the point, that's why to compensate it , srila Prabhupada did it and it's the only perfect bhagvadgita to understand in today's age. Now I'm chanting 2-5 rounds daily with bhagvadgita reading even though I'm studying two degrees at a time

Devotional service is doing service to Krishna in mood of servant's humility. Krishna says amongst many yogis one rare person comes to me. Atmagyaan can also be not leading to Krishna if you don't engage in selfless service to Krishna as it will ultimately lead to philanthropy not Krishna. Bhagavad Gita Sri Krishna says aram sarvasya prabhavo mattah sarvam pravartate iti mattva bhajante mam budha bhava samanvitah. That means I am Lord of material and spiritual worlds and the wise men engage in my devotional service with their hearts

Srila Prabhupada doesn't directly go on to translate buddhi as bhakti . In the 39-40 verse of second chapter, he has explained how buddhi yog, sankhya yog ultimately lead to bhakti yog, even though they are philosophically different, ultimately they are same . And in the consequent verses too he has explained it again and again.

Translation must be as close to the original text as possible and saints and sadhu's experience should be treated as commentery and not be mistaken with translation. Because we might be missing on some hidden gems of the original text which are yet to be discovered. Great example is Valmiki ji's Ramayan is original version of which many other versions were derived, Ramcharitmanas, Ranganathan Ramayan etc. Every versions is equally loved.

Yes, if the book has "as it is" in the name then the translation should be as it is and they should explain it as commentary or explaination. That's the point no one is getting here in the comments and people are fooled by this.
Dharma is translated as Religion and Karma yoga is translated as Bhakti yoga and they say translations are correct .

Sri Prabhupad was fully empowered to interpret Bhagwat Gita through Bhakti Marga as he was the Guru of long Guru Parampara . As per traditions of Santan Dharma such Guru are Adhikari to interpret shastra for the betterment of all the Hindus/ Mankind
But he does not wrong interpret anything it just love for Krishna so he mentions about Krishna consciousness in every chapter
& That is the main message of Gita only
I am also saying the same thing . Bhakti is simplest of all the marga of Moksha . It is for this reason Bhagwat Gita as it is is simplest ,scholarly and practical to apply even for a lay man .
You are right but no one, I mean literally no one has permission to change the literal meaning from Sanskrit to Bengali/ English. You can interpret the shloka to your own judgement which is called Vabartha. Vabartha can be changed, but translation should never be changed and Iskcon changed translations which is unthinkable.

Regarding the controversy around BG 2.49 where 'buddhau saranam' is mentioned: I looked at Srila Sridhara Svami's commentary and this is what the acarya says "यद्वा बुद्धौ शरणं त्रातारमीश्वरमाश्रयेत्यर्थः।" Sridhara Swami clearly says buddhau saranam has a meaning of taking shelter of the Supreme Lord (isvaram), who is the deliverer(trAtAram). Therefore, His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada says 'surrender unto the Lord' as a translation to "buddhau saranam". Since Sanskrit word meaning has to be expressed in English, in the translations, Srila Prabhupada gives clear meaning so the reader can understand it. Otherwise in the word for word, it already says buddhau means 'in such consciousness' which was referring to the buddhi-yoga consciousness. I am very happy to see that Srila Prabhpada is faithfully following purva acaryas like Srila Sridhara Swami and making sure the readers understand what Lord Krsna is saying. That is what makes his GIta authentic. In the context of कलियुग and given a limited time span, Bhakti Yog is certainly the best route. Gyan will also lead us to Bhakti. First we need to understand the ultimate AIM of life and decide our Goal. Depending upon the goal, interpretation may differ. Maybe, all will not aim for the utmost best.

Srila prabhupada bhagvat gita i first read in 12 th std then bcos of my entrance exam and in my first year MBBS i could not read it ....eventually i met devotees in college and then i realise they are teaching the gita i read in 12 std .....eventually started reading bhagvat gita in my 2nd year ....and i am so grateful to prabhupada ..,,he has given such a simple purport even person who has no background of spiritual culture can easily understand ...despite reading it many time .... i always feel reading the introduction prabhupada gave to bhagvat gita many times ...now i have completed my MD and i have started memorising shlokas ...in difficult time i sometime remember the shloka which i have memorised ....this is all due to srila prabhupada he not only made bhakti as science but also as a service thats why prabhupada has translated bhakti as devotional SERVICE ....all glories to srila prabhupada the messenger of godhead

ज्ञान योग में, जब कोई अपनी बुद्धि का उपयोग परम आध्यात्मिक वास्तविकता से जुड़ने के लिए करता है, बिना यह जाने कि वह आध्यात्मिक वास्तविकता क्या है (या तो व्यक्तिगत या अवैयक्तिक) या आध्यात्मिक वास्तविकता के साथ उसका संबंध व्यक्तिगत की तुलना में अधिक बौद्धिक है (अर्थात आकर्षण के संदर्भ में अधिक अमूर्त) परम सत्य के व्यक्तित्व या मधुरता के बजाय परम सत्य की महानता के लिए) तो बुद्धि के ऐसे उपयोग को बुद्धि योग भी कहा जा सकता है।
भक्ति योग में, बुद्धि योग वह बुद्धि होगी जिसका उपयोग कृष्ण की इस तरह से सेवा करने के लिए किया जाएगा जो उन्हें सबसे अधिक प्रसन्न करे।
इस प्रकार, बुद्धि योग शब्द का अर्थ तीनों चीजें हो सकता है।
गीता में ज्ञान योग की अधिक चर्चा नहीं की गई है क्योंकि गीता युद्ध के मैदान में बोली गई थी। संदर्भ में यह शामिल है कि अर्जुन को युद्ध के अपने कर्तव्य को पूरा करने की आवश्यकता है। इसलिए, ज्ञान योग, जो संसार के त्याग पर केंद्रित है, गीता के संदर्भ के अनुकूल नहीं है। इसीलिए, गीता ज्ञान योग के बारे में ज्यादा बात नहीं करती है। इसलिए, गीता में जहां भी बुद्धि योग शब्द का उपयोग किया गया है, उसका अर्थ या तो कर्म योग या भक्ति योग है।

😮 जिन लोगों ने स्वानुभूति एवं भाव रहित अर्थात केवल शाब्दिक अर्थ के साथ *भगवद्गीता* का अनुवाद किया हो तो ऐसे अनुवाद निर्दोष नहीं हो सकते क्योंकि उनमें वे सब भाव नहीं होते जो श्रीभगवान् में थीं । उचित अनुवाद वही है जो पूर्वाचार्यों की टीका पर आधारित हों और साथ ही साथ पूर्वाचार्यों द्वारा अनुमोदित भी हों ।
यदि किसी व्यक्ति ने किसी प्रकार से पढ़लिख कर अनुवाद कर भी लिया हो तो व्यर्थ है, क्योंकि वह अनुवाद पूर्वाचार्यों की दिव्यदृष्टि और स्वानुभूति से रहित होता है । ऐसे अनुवाद केवल प्रमाद और उत्पात के ही कारक होंगे यदि वे पूर्वाचार्यों की मत को खंडन करते हों तो ।

अर्थात वैदिक मूल्य यह शिक्षा देते हैं कि विवाह संबंध के भीतर भी मर्यादा की सीमा के बाहर व्यभिचार सिद्ध हो सकता है । देहभाव जहाँ पुष्ट हो रहा हो वैसे असंयमित यौनाचार में व्यभिचार ही सिद्ध होता है । iskcon में केवल संतान उत्पत्ति हेतु ही यौनक्रिया वैध है, और यही वैदिक संस्कृति भी है कि स्त्री-पुरुष के मध्य होने वाली शारीरिक सम्बन्ध में किसी भी प्रकार से आध्यात्मिक मूल्यों का हनन न होता हो, अतः मर्यादा की सीमा के अंतर्गत ही यौनक्रिया मान्य है, उसके बाहर व्यभिचार सिद्ध होता है । यही शिक्षा श्रील प्रभुपाद जी की शिक्षा एवं अनुवाद के अंतर्गत है । जो शिक्षा पवित्र भाव को प्रकट नहीं करती ऐसे भावहीन शिक्षा आदि का होने न होने से कुछ फर्क नहीं पड़ता । सुष्क-भाव जो निष्प्राण हो और कल्याणप्रद परिणाम से शून्य हो और जो वेद विरोधी धर्म विरोधी तथ्यों से युक्त हो ऐसे शब्द प्रत्येक दृष्टि से निरर्थक होते हैं, lifeless होते हैं । अतः श्रील प्रभुपाद जैसे महान आचार्य कृत अनुवाद दिव्यत्त्व से युक्त हुए होने हेतु उनमें थोड़ी बहुत बदलाव होनेपर भी वह कल्याणप्रद सिद्ध हुआ । परमार्थ में भक्ति ही प्रयोजनीय है और भगवद्गीता के अंतर्गत जो प्रयोजन तत्त्व है वह *"भक्ति"* ही है, ज्ञान नहीं । यहाँ ज्ञान का तात्पर्य *"संविद"* तत्त्व से है जो *"स्वरूपशक्ति"* कि वृत्ति है । जहाँ *"ज्ञान"* का अर्थ *भक्ति* से किया जाता हो वह *संविद* तत्त्व के अधीन है ऐसा मानना होगा । और *"संविद"* तत्त्व भक्ति का ही द्योतक होता है । बिना उस *संविद* सत्ता के अनुगत भक्ति के भगवद्गीता का कोई अस्तित्त्व सिद्ध नहीं होता । अतः *संवित* सत्ता के अधीन *ज्ञान* ही *भक्ति* है, क्योंकि वह ज्ञान *सेवाभाव* से युक्त होता है । इसलिये भगवद्गीता आदि ग्रंथों के अध्ययन में विशुद्ध गुरु परंपरा और पूर्वाचार्यों का आनुगत्य अनिवार्य माना जाता है । पूर्वाचार्यों की स्थिति पराशक्ति या फिर कहें कि श्रीभगवान की स्वरूपशक्ति की सत्ता के अधीन हुए होने से उनमें प्राकॄत दोष अर्थात भ्रम प्रमाद आदि की संभावना नहीं रहती । जो अनुवाद बिना स्वरूप शक्ति की सहयोग के केवल प्राकॄत मन बुद्धि के मनन चिंतन क्रिया का परिणाम से सम्पन्न होता हो वह सर्वदा निरर्थक है । परमार्थ और motivational track यदि एक दूसरे के पूरक न सिद्ध होते हों तो परिणाम प्रतिकूल होंगे । परंतु ISKCON द्वारा संपादित भगवद्गीता परमार्थ पर आधारित होने से जो भी motivation श्रील प्रभुपाद जी से प्राप्त हुआ वह परमार्थ के अनुकूल सिद्ध हुआ । *ISKCON* की गीता पूर्वाचार्यों की टीका पर आधारित होने से पूर्णतः दिव्य है ।

I want to share my realization about Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavatgeeta as a reply to all those people who falsely blame Srila Prabhupada because of his Bhagavatgeeta translation. As prabhuji said in this video that many non devotee people tried to translate the Bhagavatgeeta but failed to convey the actual message of it because they don't had Bhakti towards Krishna. They don't even have Guru Maharaj who is a pure devotee of Krishna. So even after reading those translations people (even those who have many academic degrees or those who are philosophers and teachers) still think that Bhagavadgeeta only tells us to do karma although the main messages of Bhagavadgeeta is *to know Krishna, know about our real identity (i.e. we are are souls that are part and parcel of Krishna and we are eternal servants of Krishna), know about our relationship with Krishna and finally know how to re-establish that relationship with Krishna.*
Now let's talk about about Srila Prabhupada’s translation and commentary. Srila Prabhupada was a pure devotee of Krishna and he was free from all material contaminations. His heart, soul and even body was full of love for Sri Sri RadhaKrishna. Srila Prabhupada born in a Vaishnav family and performed devotional service towards Krishna from the moment of birth. He even belonged to Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya Guru-Shishya parampara. In Bhagavad geeta (18:55) "One can understand Me as I am, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, only by devotional service. And when one is in full consciousness of Me by such devotion, he can enter into the kingdom of God." By this shloka we can conclude that Srila Prabhupada’s translation is authentic and blessed by Krishna because he was His pure devotee. I studied Bhagavadgeeta for the very first time when I was only 9 year old, still after reading Srila Prabhupada’s translation I realized that Bhakti towards Krishna is the one and only goal of this human life. So _how could a child like me understood the conclusion of all vedic scriptures just by doing self-study the translation of Srila Prabhupada if his commentary is not authentic?_ I was moved (not only me but people worldwide) by Srila Prabhupada’s Geeta translation because Lord Krishna Himself blessed His dearmost devotee to spread His name across the globe! To understand this one can pray for Krishna's mercy for intelligence to understand His words.
So we can conclude that Srila Prabhupada’s translation is 100% authentic and as it is.

long time ago i watched around two to three videos of mr. prashant and what i observed is he just points out problem but not any kind of solution and also saw on his face so much frustration and angryness and i though if he is so much frustrated how can he help me and from that time i never see his video
