Some people consider Spike to be sort of an anomaly in a way because even without a soul he was capable of feeling love for another. I kind of think of Harmony as one too because she actually became sweeter in a way and more likable as a vampire than she EVER was as a human being. I think Mercedes McNabb's gift for comedy could've/should've made her a much bigger star than she was given the right opportunities. Of course maybe that wasn't what she wanted but she certainly had the potential
Harmony (and Mercedes McNabb) is the alpha and omega of the Buffyverse. She is the only character and actor to be in the unaired pilot (which you can find on youtube) and the final episode of Angel. I think that's kind of neat. Making her a vampire was the genius move for Harmony, and I really like that she became a semi-regular this season.
And even if you just go buy the aired episodes, she and Angel are the only ones to be in the first and last episodes of the Buffyverse. I always wonder why Mercedes quit acting.
@@Logan_Baron Close; Harmony's not in the first aired episode but first appears in the second one (other than being in the unaired pilot). I didn't know that Mercedes quit acting! At least it wasn't until after she appeared in one episode of Supernatural as a vampire.
I always feel a little sorry for Harmony here. She has come a long way, but she's still at loose ends. What I find interesting is that in life she was always surrounded by a group of girlfriends, but in death she never made herself a group of vampire women to hang out with. She only ever made that gang of male minions. I have to wonder why. Or maybe she did, but they left her. Harmony was always a follower and not a leader. Cordelia was her leader and she gravitated back to her and then back to the people that were hers. But she still feels isolated because she is all that remains of what was her old life and she doesn't truly fit into her new one. Harmony should have been a trophy wife, raising 2.5 kids in the suburbs somewhere, living in a mansion and never having to think about more than throwing the next benefit. She was a spoiled rich girl when she died. She wasn't made for this life, or rather, this death. It is remarkable really how she has adapted to it. She doesn't get enough credit. I believe Wesley is so tan right now because this is the point in filming when Alexis Denisof had just returned from his honeymoon with Alyson Hannigan.
Harms Way was a great character centric episode. If ever a character deserved her own total episode it was here. Harmony was the most underrated and funniest character in The Buffyverse, adding great comedy throughout. Who can forget the brilliant bitch slapping and sissy kicking in S4 with Xander and Harmony such wonderful slow motion, and total air headed nonsense throughout. Here she is able to come into her own, as a BTVS S1 veteran it's great to see. Hilarious when Harmony says to Fred, what are you doing after work. Harmony trying to prove her innocence if great to see. More comedy with Angel n Gunn getting harangued by the demons, and Harmony eventually realising who stitched her up, and calling her Sambucha! Great Vampire/Cat fight between the two. then we have the Chopstick/Kung Fu battle. A very funny scene at the end with Lorne and Fred with ice bags on their had after Harmony's dusting in the boardroom. A great stand alone comedic episode, was great to see Mercedes McNab get recognised with her own episode.
Angel isn't being any more "bossy" in this episode than he has been through the rest of this season; it's just that we are experiencing everything in this episode from Harmony's POV,. From our perspective she is most definitely a periphery character that is juuuust prominent enough to get into the opening credits, but from hers she is desperately wanting to be in the center of it all again, and the seeming ignoring of her by the main cast at times reflects this.
"You can teach me about life, and I can teach you how to dress better." Harmony learned tact from Cordelia. Except Cordelia knew what she was doing. Sometimes. -Sambuca- Tamika types 80 words per minute, and has an exceptionally pleasant phone voice. But Harmony types like a superhero -- that is, if there was a superhero whose superpower was typing.
Happy New Year! I'm sure you look great first thing in the morning. Loved this episode. Harmony likes to think of herself as one of the popular ones, it really hurts her that no one seems to notice her. Grated she's pretty grating, but that's not the point. She means well, except for her slugging first and not asking questions at all. The body count was starting to stack up though. Her fight with that other secretary was great, especially the resolution. She does make for good comedy relief.
1:07 I keep trying to get my Music Vid edit for this song with clips from this episode on TH-cam, but it keeps getting Blocked. How Rude! 😠 3:59 By the timetable, I'd say this was his return from a brief hiatus after marrying Alyson Hannigan (something for which I shall never forgive him).😁🤨 6:44 🤣Every compliment from Harmony is about 33% insult, but she's too clueless to realize it. It's part of her charm. 11:46 This recurring closet bit is prime BuffyVerse comedy. The Demon calling Angel "Wh0re Man" too. 😂
The narration at the beginning sounded like one of those 1950s or early 60s info films or commercials. Harmony is like a dumb blonde version of Cordelia.
It’s hard to feel sorry for Harmony when you remember how she treated Marcy in Buffy season one. 🤭 Mercedes McNab is a fabulous actress however. She excels at playing Harmony, which you could argue began in the 90s when she was in both Addams Family movies.
One of my favorite episodes! However, I think there is a side of Angel that is bossy. It's just that Cordelia always stood up for herself and demanded respect from Angel so he would back down. But he definitely has behaved in a similar way with Gunn and Wesley at times. It's just that WR&H exasperates it for sure.

Spike:”Any message for Buffy?”
Angel:”Tell her you’re a moron.”
I’m pretty sure she knows that already.

10:59 one of the best jokes in the buffyverse LMFAOOO

Exactly, this is how Harmony perceives Angel as a boss, this is her equivalent of Xander's "Zeppo" episode in Buffy.
I'm a hand talker to so I found it really funny how your hand simulated the vampire bite as you talked about the distance between the teeth.
14:23 the actress played Cecile in CW The Flash.

You know, Mercedes McNab appeared in one episode of Supernatural Season 3, "Fresh Blood", as a newly turned vampire.
Dakara happy new year my friend. Again another beautiful reaction.
