I drove the predecessor with its 41hp Diesel engine for a while, which had a slightly lower top speed (135 kph or 84 mph). 0-100 kph (62 mph) in 19.8 s sounds awful, but in reality, it had no issues whatsoever with keeping up with traffic, despite the awful gearbox. You can realistically overtake slower traffic with it, believe it or not and it actually felt surprisingly zippy at lower speeds; that low-RPM torque typical of Diesel engines is definitely noticeable - and the low gearing also helps. Even on the Autobahn, it never felt underpowered (and was actually capable of overtaking there as well), although it liked to follow ruts in the road and was quite susceptible to side wind. My back definitely hated the suspension however. Not a pleasant ride, but it partially makes up for that with its incredible efficiency. You have to truly treat the engine like you hate it in order to make it sip more than 3.5l/100 km (67 MPG US, 80.7 MPG UK). This tiny thing can haul a lot of stuff, by the way. Far more useful of a car than people might imagine. If we are being brutally honest, this is all the car the vast majority of commuters that clog roads with their oversized SUVs actually need.
^^^ Even my relatively weak 170 bhp sedan can haul a lot of stuff thanks to the modified manual gearbox. Gave it a very low first, to help with clutch slip on hills, but an added benefit is it can haul weight if it really has to. Not the most safe way to do it, and if I did the clutch might hate me, but it could do it. Also. especially true on that last part. Oversized vehicles that only 1 or 2 people use for just commuting is a big problem, almost literally.
"Ich kann halt nicht schneller auf die Bahn fahren, ich hab nur nen Smart" ....siehst du das Marianne??? 2:45 hier klappt's doch auch, erzähl mir keinen Scheiß!! xD
At least it uses the whole speedometer.
Wind noise is awful though.
slow like a Lupo, brutal like a Lamborghini Huracan. 😅
Do you mean a Lupo and Huracan as same VAG, Smart have a Mercedes!? 😂

Thanks for including all common units!

Still overtaking Teslas who spare their battery 😅
Some people are just commuting, not trying to go as fast as possible.
Smart, the closest European analogue to the Japanese Kei car
They even sold a smart in Japan that complied with Kei car specifications. It failed miserably.
Anlasser so: “Hiiiiiii”🤣
Thanks for this video!
The wind noise from the poop manufacturing process is the only reminder to the driver that they are driving a mercedes.
I'm superised how quick it is, I thought it would top out at a lower speed to be honest.
Love those 3-cyl engines, it's what a 4-cyl sounds like after it grows up.
Am glad you filled the tank so u don’t fly 😂💔 160 felt like 320 😂💔
Can you try the Smart brabus 450 pls?😊
Honestly the car kinda cool
You can even tune these ones without turbo for a few more HP and no speedlimiter. Even managed 161 GPS😂
Aber wie viel Km/h mit GPS? Tacho ist nicht genau 🤔 140Km/h real?
Das Tacho hat ordentlich Vorlauf. Die 71 PS Variante ist mit 145 KMH eingetragen.
Cool, but you should have GPS speed on the screen.
Max is 143 on GPS, i did it on mine, same spec
gps Speed is lower too on mine never reached 150 or higher
Schöne Auto macht gute Wrumm Wrumm.
Do a smart brabus!
Die Notfallkapsel einer S-Klasse, lol!
can i drive this as a kid
Quick small car❤
Really slow...especially for its weight and horsepower. I don't get it!
Still faster than the max. allowed 85 mph on a US highway (137 km/h).
Lexus lx 570 2021

It’s automatic
