Thanks for your sweet comment! Yes there is dirt in SF :-) Little League here is very popular, there are not enough dirt fields in the city to cover all teams. Once in while we have to use a turf fields but most of the time we play in regular baseball fields... Thanks again.
the umpire was a young kid and props to him for getting out there and learning the skills. Always have to be dogging someone. Whom ever was the second base umpire, two thumbs up for being out there and helping the younger kids out.
This kid is freaking good he can hit, run, has patience at the plate, and for his age it looks like he understands the mental aspect of the game. If he works hard and gets good coaching i think we will read something about him in the papers someday.
Kid got talent :) keep it up wish a lot of luck cause I know what it takes. You are actually good enough to get up there when you get older if you keep playing. Keep playing you can make it and make your parents proud like you are now. Because you can become someone in life and not like other people. Believe in your self and never underestimate your self.
Thanks! In San Francisco we have a "problem", there are not enough baseball fields for so many little league teams... The league does a great job scheduling teams and fields all over the city but there are games (like this one) that are scheduled on multipurpose fields...
Wonderful!! Why can't we see youth baseball spirit like this in Italy?? Everything's hard here and the best we could do was to train in terrible fields and swear sooooo much to win... Throughout all these problems, I went twice in Youth National team, but no one would like to pick me up in a pro team... So sad... :'(
Teach him how to steal home on the throw back to the pitcher! That's what I always used to do in little league. Get a hit, walked, or hit by pitch, then steal second, steal third, and steal home on the throw back to the pitcher. That was the plan for the first inning of every game. The second time I got up, the opposing team usually got a little smarter. Ahh, little league, the good ol' days. It was so easy back then.
Sorry for the cumbersome request, but I am a graduate student and would like to use a screen capture from this video for a paper I am writing about multimodality. Is it me or does the umpire at :34 and 1:43 look like he's 12? And this kid has a future in baseball, I can tell you that much. I umpire the same age groups and the coaches pretty much have to tell their players when to run, and it looks like this kid was born to run, very speedy. I see a Jacoby Ellsbury in the making. Just as long as he practices and puts in the extra work to be better he will be great! Telling by his hustle, he looks like he loves the game, so he should be a great player.
LOL I remember when I was about 11 I was catching for my fastpitch softball team and there was this girl about 4'7'' SHE STOLE ON LITERALLY EVERY PITCH, EVEN IF IT WASN'T A PASSED BALL. I basically had to throw down every base every time she was on!!
awesome! takes me back 15 years! I remember playing this kind of ball in NC
Thanks s much, I can totally understand you, I'm also a Yankees' fan and my son too! You can only imagen how hard it was for us :-) Go Yankees!!!

Hi
Kid's good. Only in San Francisco would a baseball game be interrupted by a soccer game being on the same field.
