Designing Concept Art On Paper

Here's a little tip to keep in mind when you are hard at work on your Cintiq, iPad, or at your drawing table. Whether you design, illustrate or draw concept art you are creating. The process is the same. You are creating / materializing your vision. Many get hung up on the labels of things. At the end of the day you are communicating visually. If you find a way that gets you to your solution or vision faster, go for it! Regardless of what someone else might call it. The deliverable is what matters. Don't get hung up on synonyms.
There are also times when supervisors or directors may not have the experience you have in a specific area of production. It's your responsibility to educate them on it. Previs came to live action in late teens of the 2000. In essence it's an animatic. The animation industry has been using this for almost 100 years. I was constantly asking myself why they were not using animatics on a regular basis. Call it what ever you want, if it helps your work done I say you have a green light on that.
