Custom Profiles starts at 51 minutes in. When you're done, don't forget to go to Pro Print & Layout (PPL) - FILE - Other Settings - Add/Update Media Info. so it shows up in PPL when you go to choose it. Thank Eric
Hi, I hava a pro-1000. I seen in this video many custom paper sizes. I can create one in Professional Print & Layout, but I can't find where to create it, to be selectable in printer's menu. Is there a way for that for Pro-1000 or only the higher sizes?
Printing multiple images (slots) on one sheet...my Pro1000 does not offer multiple slots in the drop-down menu. (Windows, LR plug in and stand-alone PPL.) If I right-click, the add new slot is greyed out. Copy and paste does not work either. How/where can I add this? Great tutorials. Thanks.
Hello @lisaburghart4141. Just saw your comment. This has more to do with Canon Professional Print & Layout than the Media Configuration Tool. You have to choose Multiple Images under the Layout Mode drop down menu to activate the feature to create multiple image layouts. You are probably in Single Image Mode at the moment.
Hello @900heritage. This program was made for people who really want to take control of their media type files. It isn't for everyone and yes, I agree, it is complicated. I have found that it is very valuable in solving issues like banding on certain papers, increasing accuracy for print size on larger prints and increasing accuracy for cutting prints using the Paper Feed Adjustment feature. As with all things, you don't need to know it, but if it useful to you or you have a problem that would be solve by using this program, it is there for you.
Hello Suliviastagg. Canon did make a Media Configuration Tool for the Canon imagePrograf IPF 6400 and other x400 series printers. It can be downloaded for free from Canon's Software & Download Support page. It isn't quite as fully functional as this newer version though. I've used it to create custom media type files with custom names and using the Paper Feed Adjustment to eliminate micro-banding and increase accuracy of printing and cutting on long prints. The newer version for the newer imagePROGRAF printers is a much more fully developed and fully function program. I hope this helps.

That drop-down control is good at hiding! Found it. Thanks.@@ericjoseph3865
