it's very important to set specify section points for shell element. Thanks so much.

Hello sir, I have followed whatever you explailed in video but I am getting error like " node set assembly_pickedset21 has not been defined". Please help me out.

I think some procedures in between are missing and I cannot trust the final results.

Does abaqus output the flexural modulus of the composite subjected to bending load?

Thank you for the video...can u make a video on the use of hashian damage criteria for FRP?

Thanks for the video. Have a question about the contact. When you set up the geometry distance between plate and roller, do you take into account the shell thickness?

It depends on how you set up the contact. For shell contact, you have the option to count the shell thickness or not. If shell thickness is not counted, you should not leave the gap to count the shell thickness to avoid rigid body motion. If shell thickness is counted, you need to leave the gap between parts. This video does not show this option and should be default which does not count the shell thickness in contact. In this tutorial, the boundary conditions are not properly applied. As a laminate composite tutorial, this video is also misleading.

thanks for your video . i have a question. why do you seperate the BCs on RP? in displacement BCs u1,3 ur1,2,3 which have 0 value, and BC u2 which is not zero

Thank for the video. One query, Is bending stress is S22 here?

thanks for the video. but the bending stress should be s33 here.

another thing here is the simplified material model. the author gives all pure elastic but no plastic properties for the two metals. thus the bending stress curve along thickness direction is linear within the metal's own range. in reality, we need use elastic-plastic material model.

thank you for your video, a question about contact occured to me recently. when there is a friction coefficient ,the solution convergence quickly ,but if no friction, many serve discontinuity iterlations, and
the solution finally not convergence. it's strange?

it depends on the type of contact problem! sometimes defining friction on parts that is is solved in standard will provide better constraint to the whole assembly and sometimes will reduce rigid body motion effect. try activating unsymmetric matrix storage in your static step and add some contact stabilisation as a first pass.
      hope this helps
      Nick
