So, Space marines and Imperial Guard can be on the same table now. Thats actually quite nice. But can you also stick in some Skitari ? If so that might be a bit unfun with their stealth and shrouded on all the army skill.
Canticles only apply to models that have the rule, has nothing to do with the detachment. The Castellans can't take any Admech units since those have their own combo detachment. However if ICs join a Cult squad or other way around they would get shrouded / stealth / fearless or any other buff that affects the entire unit if it affects a model. But if you really want shrouded just grab a psyker, Cypher or any other way to get shrouded for more than one turn for cheaper. It's nothing new and not as important. Might as well go Deathwatch and give him the artifact that gives the entire unit a 4++. Works better against ignore cover and is also cheaper
Need to really look into how to combine attachments from what were previously different armies. From the fluff a step froward. Will see how the game ends up. Will probably take some ballancing later on.
I'd say so. It will come back empty any time it's destroyed RAW including all upgrades it has. I'd let you play it like that, just expect people advocating against that, I've seen the discussion with the MT formation already. And btw Helbrecht, Grimaldus and the champion can be taken as HQ
They cannot. Rules as written state squad upgrades and weapons come back. A dedicated transport is neither of those, being an option category on its own
A dedicated transport is a unit of its own. The argument is not if he comes back as part or upgrade of the original unit. As Brendan already stated their battle role switches to troop choice and the rule states absolutely nothing about unit type restrictions which they usually do if that's the case (non-vehicle). So RAW you select your troop and your dedicated transport aka a Land Raider which switches from Heavy Support to Troop but is still a unit on his own. Thus he could come back. It's as if you select servitors with your engine seer, nobody would argue that they count as one unit on the battlefield but they use the same slot in a ForceOrg
twitch.tv/lotusdreams i hear you. and it was first to my mind as a templar player too. but i think this book needs faq right off the bat because thats bananas to have respawning obsec LRCs. Hilarious, but pretty bad to do on an opponent. consider the wording of the roll of a 5+ to get the new troops unit to come back. it doesnt specify the unit is destroyed and gone if you fail the 5+ to go back into ongoing reserve (like the we'll be back roll for necrons in 6th). so is it a roll per troop choice destroyed each turn or???
TBH I'd glady play against you if you try that. They are so expensive that I highly doubt you will make back your invested points, no matter what. But let's talk rules real quick again: The detachment doesn't give you obsec since it isn't a CAD. It only has the hatred/zealot and respawn effect. Even if they come back I'll ignore the boxes since you will drive on from your table edge (maybe). The respawn is the same as with the Chaos Cultists: 1. The unit is destroyed 2. you roll 3. a new identical unit is created or not. So no more rolling afterwards, as you only roll in the moment of destruction. However you can keep bringing the new one back as well, since it counts as part of the detachment for all purposes. As said I'd allow it but they could FAQ the dedicated thing still because it affects the basic MT formations as well and over there the wording isn't as clear thus the discussion
The castellans detachment enables you to take both sisters and templars but only limited choices obviously. The wrathful crusade doest have any, so apart from the name you got the last detachment in the video, just not templars and sisters specifically
alot of the things you think aren't useful are actualy great...celestine having armourbane is huge, and greyfax having a power that denies overwatch is insane against shooty deathstars
Regarding celestine: Everything else is simply bigger in comparison. Her getting armourbane only wouldn't have made her any better since shes still unable to reach combat. A both regenerating, ablative and huge wound pool mixed with eternal warrior will make sure she can even put any of that to use The power itself is great but let me assure you that your not getting close to my shooty death star with a foot slogging t3 model to cast a 12'' malediction in pistol range and be sure I'll have anti psychic in there. The amount of points you sink in her is not warranted if you do it to deal with deathstars. But then again thats just my opinion all of them have their uses, I am going go play them all and see what happens
good review!

So by my reckoning,(as Templars player) my LRC can be recycled on a 5+ because if taken as a transport it technically becomes a troop choice.

GW says something about an imperial crusade detachment for sisters and templars, wheres that?
