That's me every year now as well as my birthday, Easter and Thanksgiving. Honestly, this sketch really saddened me but at the same time I honored Redd Foxx for doing this.
This shows a side of him you never saw, his ingenuity & skill he had to put that together with no dialogue was very well done. he was a very smart man in ways you would not have imagined. He could fix things, he was handy while making it look easy.
Truly watching this was very touching and watching Redd Go all out and doing a superb job to say the least I miss him. One of the greatest comedy legends of all time, if I had to pick a couple there's the three stooges Redd Foxx
Love seeing these serious skits…Redd was a tremendous actor and shows his true to life acting here. He did this just once in Sanford and Son, but to see him do this Christmas short, heartwarming and touching. ❤️👑
This isnt just a normal sketch Redd did this for those they were and are going through this he wrote his own script meaning this was most likely something he once done before becoming famous
The character was only hanging on barely and wanted one night to feel festive and maybe remember better times. I imagine he was probably going to put the lights back the next day or so.
