I wished Creed II would have had a montage scene of Creed defeating opponents just like in Rocky III, before the fight promoter goes public trying to get Creed and Drago's son in the ring.
So this gets hit on early, but I do believe Apollo won the third fight. You look at how IV starts and I firmly believe Apollo doesn't take that exhibition with Drago if he didn't beat Rocky first. That win gave him the confidence he needed to challenge Ivan. I also disagree with the idea that Adonis should've won. The series likely falls flat if he wins. This first movie was about him going from underground to big time. He got knocked out by Wheeler and lost his ride. He went the distance with Conlan and is probably fortunate he didn't get knocked out. 2 was about the maturation of Adonis as a fighter while also grappling with his past. 2 took elements of Rocky 2, Rocky 3 and the postscript from Rocky 4 which meshed into one great sequel.

Why did these guys schedule a live show (in Philly of all places), and have zero anticipation of the crowd’s eagerness to be apart of the show? Nor did they have any forethought on what to do and say, if and when the crowd did start barking?!?
Listened to this on Spotify. I’ve loved just about all the episodes, and I generally believe this one was for Van. The energy felt off the whole way thru, Bill felt forced most of the way trying to lead questions and discussion that didn’t feel as authentic as a lot of the other episodes have. Bills disdain for the comic movies is well known, he was asking Van all this just to keep him involved in the conversation. I did not find Creed rewatchable at all. You could hear Bill Shaun and Chris subtly pick this movie apart the whole way thru. Small blip in an otherwise great podcast idea. Looking forward to the next one
