love Melissa ssoooooooooo much!!!!! this is one of the best scenes in the movie!(also when she talks to him about his mom, dying from cancer,,,and she just didnt know what to say,,,,,,made me cry.) (cancer runs in my family)
The story is not about changing for love, it's about finding themselves. Chase became a troublesome guy, which Nicole used to be his friend with, but they distanced themselves in secondary, Chase became from certain way when her mom passed away because of a disease, which Nicole was afraid of it and she stopped hanging out with Chase. Chase took that as Nicole didn't support him and she didn't treat his mom well, whom he really cared about. While Nicole used to be nice, but started to hang out with the popular guys who were shallow and she went after the popular guys who were empty inside. Nicole admired Alicia, but then realized what she admired it wasn't good, when she betrayed Nicole. D-Vine also explains how when she changed her appearance she could fit in with the popular guys, but she wasn't really that happy about it. Chase didn't like the popular guys, either, he could just fit in there, but that wasn't him, but he neither belonged with her ex girlfriend and lifestyle. So when Chase & Nicole made that deal, both realized who they really were and what they really wanted.
One of my Favorite movie not about ppl here some is just not clip battle .. people forget what it's like to just cruise and have fun...I'm Paul Estrada III ... A lot of people try to claim the old clips from clip out on it's not about them trust me
Why would two teenagers in 1999 be so fond of an REO Speedwagon song from 1980? Because the movie is based on a 1986 book and the screenwriter didn't bother to update the reference.
Why would teenagers be listening to REO in 1999? Same reason people listen to this song in 2021. It’s a very famous song lol The book was released in 1996 and the song isn’t mentioned at all. This scene isn’t even in the book.
1999,no smartphones,no social media and almost no internet,it was a different world back then.
But in 1995 in clueless had cellphones jajaaj

Looks like this scene was a bit of a homage to American Graffiti, especially with the antique 🚗. Love the film👍
