I counted around $700 to $850 ungraded... If you'll grade where's Waldo ... That one will bring $600 to $800 alone However, empire strikes back nearly paid for the box.
The question asked "was I ripped off?"...and the answer is a resounding yes! The comments aren't negative if you ask. Clearly this is a terrible purchase.
@@dusterdriven So, I can give you ONE low-tier game that is common and the rest just a bunch of trash to take up room, for $1,000? Please buy from me. I have plenty of deals for you.
John, good job on your channel, you've quickly became one if my top 5 TH-camrs. You're funny and your enthusiasm for old NES / SNES / Genesis games is pretty amazing. Haven't played NES games since I was little but hearing you talk about them is endearing and good nostalgia. Hope you keep making these. At some point I hope to get some of your air fresheners.
@JohnRiggs I enjoyed watching it. It's unreal how much shovelware DS pumped out. Also, I'd never seen those Sesame Street games in box. That was pretty dang neat.
The most expensive are not the games, but the time that will take to sell them. You can get material things back but you can never get your time back unless selling is a hobby that you enjoy doing.
Not gonna lie, I was disappointed in this box, but you helped out a friend, thats the main thing. Im sure you'll make your money back with the video revenue and the Whatnot sales. Youre a good dude, Riggs!
I was a huge baseball fan as a kid, and I had a number of Mark McGwire cards, including multiple of his rookie cards. After he broke the homerun record, I was sure those would be worth something one day. Then, sometime after his steroids scandal, I remember a sports-memorabilia shop owner on the news saying you couldn't give crap away for free if it had anything to do with McGwire.
That DS Transformers Decepticons game is a hidden gem, it's ridiculously good for what it is (a weird cross of transformers, action gameplay and GTA) and always goes under the radar.
Blind Boxes are like any of the other blind buys people do now a days. It's the feel of Christmas...so you ask yourself what's in the box? That is the hook that gets you to buy them. For me Christmas growing up was always disappointing because the anticipation of what was in that gift was higher than what was really in it. That is exactly what usually happens when you get a blind box...not the item your looking for, but the lesser known ones. Your getting it more for the wonderment of finding out...than the enjoyment of what is inside it.
Can a friend actually give John a collection for what it’s worth for once? He is such a nice guy and I am sick and tired seeing this. This is sad. Why so many jeopardy and wheel of fortune? Crazy sports. I will get on whatnot
Yeah a lot of times there's a lot of disappointment but at the same time it's the fun and excitement for you and us to see what you're going to get. We enjoy these videos!!
John you did fine. The most important that that matters is that your helping a friend out with their bills. There are some great B and C rating games. Awesome work
1k for all the crap they couldn't sell. Just because you can WORK and use your name to whatnot this garbage n barely make your money back doesn't make it acceptable. I get why you're continuing to do it, but it's a horrible deal.
I’m going to check out the Whatnot show today. I have almost all the CIB games you showed in this video but I need some of the Sesame Street ones. Looking forward to bidding!
I dont know. Sometimes these "I want to help a friend but they are gonna rip me off" dont come off as humble. Why add the ripping off part? If you get ripped off by buying a blind box then its your own fault. And then calling that person a friend while at the same time casting doubt in regards to the intentions of said "friend" is not cool. This may upset some people, but thats my opinion.
It’s win - win. Your friend gets some money to take care of some bills or whatever and you get content (that’s little more than an informercial for your whatnot). 1:08 - hilarious already mentioning past comments like “people say I get ripped off but I always come out even” and then titling it “was I ripped off?” 🤣
I lent my Mario Kart DS cart to a mate over 10 years ago, who left town and then died... Cheeky b***ard! I've still got the box so I might keep an eye out for your sale (and yeah, lets have a Phantom Hourglass remake with "normal" controls!)
You are one of the most nicest and genuine person on youtube, especially in the reteo scene. I hate this deal wasnt that great. I will gladly send you a box and it would most definitely be worth it if hou are ever interested. Good luck friend 💜
Thanks for the info... And 15% off! I just downloaded and got everything ready for Whatnot...thisis my firsttime trying Whatnot. But i followed you and looking forward to hopefully winning something... :)
Those sports cards probably aren’t worth much. Late ‘80s - mid ‘90s was known as the “junk wax” era because cards were massively overproduced during that period. There are a select few that have some value, but most sell for less than $10.
John! Love your content, man. Also, I used to have that same Nickelodeon alarm clock that’s in your background. Wish I still did. If you ever throw that up on whatnot I might have to snatch it up.
I have a feeling this is sort of like a Bronx tale the guy that C lent $20 to and then he never heard from him again I don't know if you're going to ever hear from this guy again.
@@JohnRiggs@JohnRiggs if you only make your money back, then you are losing money paying for gas to go to the post office not to mention wasting time selling things/going to the post office
Did that Vindicators actually have the cardboard sleeve for the cart or was it using one of the generic plastic black sleeves? I can't stand it when people say they have a CIB Tengen game and then when they open it up they have a plastic sleeve from some random licensed third-party cart instead of the proper cardboard Tengen sleeve.
It was real nice of you to do that for your friend , but he really unloaded you with games that aren’t memorable at all . Hopefully you make your money back with whatnot and whatever monetization you have on the video .

I hate it when mystery boxes sellers end up fleecing the buyer. Cause in this case its obvious the seller had no good intentions.
The person who sold this to you was a friend? I’d be pissed. That’s a who’s-who of NES shovelware.
That box is like, every NES CIB game my local retro game story has had for 15 years and has never been able to sell.
The seller doesnt seem like a friend
This is why I stopped a lot of the mystery boxes. Some fun games but definitely a hard resell unfortunately.
he literally gave you all the cheapest nes games you can get in box
Your tone started to sound more and more defeated as the box continued to produce cheap games. Good luck with the upcoming stream!
