i felt for bakugo when he whispered “win” for the first time because his definition of a hero is someone who wins no matter what and all might is the definition of someone who never loses/his role model and if he lost, bakugos motivation to become the greatest hero might’ve been lost

You have to admit, even though All For One is an absolute disgusting fiend, the way he knew how to press All Might's buttons to get him stirred up, and the way he showed his presence, it does make him a great villain.

Kaloyan Ivanov Toxic Chainsaw was a big fight but it didn’t damage him and he won. All For One did hurt him. And even at his weakest All Might beat him. How? By hitting him with all the states at once.
It always annoys me when people say things like this.
This fight was not a victory for All Might, but a loss. The goal of the fight was a clear one, and All For One made that goal come to pass.
He was able to protect his followers and investments, as well as rock the world order by showing All Might as a weakened and depleted human. All Might is gone now, and All for One got rid of him. That's what people don't understand.
In the wake of this fight, things didn't get better for the heroes. They got worse, and that's how you know that ultimately it was a loss.

I wish they would have used the same script for the scene where Endeavor looks at deflated All Might. In the manga version the line was "That despair!!! It led me to..." and then shows Shoto and his Wife. It gives more development to Endeavor, showing more of his mindset.
Martin Hernandez yeh that was an underrated moment when he remembers his wife and Shoto’s faces and realized what his desperation led him to. I loved that moment in addition to All Might moments.
If it makes ya feel any better I haven't read the manga and I still felt his regret in that scene despite the line change.

There's a lot one could do with an All Might retired, for example:
Writing the best dead scene, maybe it'd be cliche, but hear me out.
What if All Might sacrifices himself to help either Deku or someone else?

He's also suffering from his injuries though. He's not in a fit shape without his powers.
Not so much scary but a bummer.
Up until this point, my favorite scene in the series has been “You can be a hero” even despite all of the amazing animation improvements and fights since then.
Not anymore. “Next it’s your turn” is easily my new favorite scene in the show. This whole episode was so iconic and emotionally powerful and amazing I can’t believe it!
Oh, also, I read the manga chapter for this incident afterwards and something was left out of the Endeavor scene that adds a more human element to him. He says: “That despair, it lead to-“ which implies regret and pain over how he destroyed his own family. It actually made me feel for him a little bit, that he actually cares, even a little, about how he hurt Shoto and his wife.
MHA is 10/10.
i sort of got that from endeavo without even reading the manga tho, like his family hated him because he was cold and distant but that was always because he was chasing all might, and now that he see's all mights skinny form the rage he felt.. ugh so good
His character is really good tbh. As a manga reader all I can say is I love his development

I think him having thoughts of his son and wife during that moment was enough evidence that it's something that's weighing on him. Pretty sure story will dive deeper into that aspect anyway.

Pretty sad when you realize All For One killed Nana, took in her grandchild and warped him into hating and wanting to kill All Might for not being saved, even though All For One is most likely the one that killed Shigaraki's family in the first place. (Well at least Nana anyways)
All for One did all that just so that he could break All Might's spirit.

I can't figure out the timeline. How is Nana a grandmother when Shigaraki is older than Midoriya. Like how old was All Might when he was trained by her. There seems to be at least 20 years or more missing somewhere.

You don't have to be quirkless to get One for All. From how it was explained in the past it just adds to the quirk you already have
Yeah, although from what I understand is that it doesnt give everyone super strength, if you already have a quirk it supercharged that quirk. Like if Endeavor had it he could shoot plasma torch level flames in columns the size of skyscrapers easily. But since both Deku and All Mkght were quirkless it enhanced their bodies natural abilities, ending up as super strength and speed

Something important the episode failed to really explain properly that the manga did a bettter job of is when there was a flashback to Shoto and his wife by Endevor, in the anime, it was prefaced just by him saying "despair", but in the manga, he says "The despair drove me to...", which shows that Endeavor has regrets about how he treated his wife and shoto.
Abi you held your tears much better than I did lmao. Such a fantastic episode, can't wait for next week!

The scariest thing in all this is that All for One survives the United States of Smash, and he is in an extreme critical condition. I read a guy commenting on that, and he said that All for One is both blind and deaf, and he sees and hears because of a sensorial quirk he stole. Even that, he only breathes through his mouth, and before the battle, we saw him constantly in a breathing machine. All this because of what All Might (with his organs all over) did to him in their first battle

I can't wait for the anime to get to the Overhaul arc. This arc was really emotional but watching Mirio protect Eri is going to be hard on all of us when it gets animated. I don't really like characters designed for popular appeal, but Mirio (Lemillion) is the GOAT. They're going to love him

This wasn't just All Might's origin story, but also "One For All's" meaning. It manifests the idea of, "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility". It lets one pass what they have to another, passing on each generation's hopes. All Might was society's pillar of hope, he was everyone's hero, he was one man for All. When he goes, "I've used up everything in me," it shows what it means to be a One For All user--you don't just use your quirk for everyone, you commit everything for All.
Lool I literally could never be a reactor people would think I'm crazy or weird. I legit bawled like a near and dear relative of mine died when I saw this episode. Cried the same way after almost every reaction I watched thinking like how is noone acting like I was lool. Being an empath sure does double or triple everything.

Imon_Snow Ohh its good to know that I wasn't overreacting because its honestly something I can't control but people tend to think it's dramatic though I've learned to not care about that; though I now prefer to watch certain things that I know will overwhelm me emotionally by myself to avoid the lingering 'shame' I feel when I'm side eyed. I love being an empath though and I figured you were one as well. It makes us more understanding, comforting and compassionate, something that the world needs.

No, One-for-All users don't HAVE to be Quirkless: remember, during the Tournament Arc? Deku said "Hey, maybe you shouldn't have given it to me." Then, All-Might said "Yeah, I came to UA to pick out a strong hero-in-training; if Todoroki received it then he'd be a superhero with fire and ice and super strength, but I gave it to you because you're awesome. Oh, and also I was Quirkless."
The moment all might pointed to the camera, officially passing the torch to Midoriya tears started to flow. The moment which has been waiting since episode 1, to finally see it happen just got me.

Wow- I was so moved by this episode, but I didn't realise even how much till I started watching some reaction videos. They're all been good but I really, really enjoyed yours. Think we had pretty much exactly the same reaction- Lol.
On a deeper note this episode is very special to me cause, while I don't normally watch reaction episodes, doing it for this one gave me the warm and fuzzies. So moving to see people of all genders, races, whatever moved in their hearts by this struggle. Man Studio Bones killed it with this one on a few levels.

As a man, I am proud to say that I cried during this episode. All Might has so much more to teach Midoriya even without his powers. (Im a manga reader so Im pretty far ahead in the story) I will say this, the next arc is going to be EVEN WILDER!
8:05 the englsih dub of this part is waaaaaay better in my opinion. Like, what the hell is endeavor even trying to say with that line? "STAND UP AND SHOW THEM WHY YOU'RE BETTER" is way more powerful and motivating and really shows how much of a symbol all might really is. despite having a deep seething resentment and envy towards all might, even Endeavor believes in the unbreakable symbol of peace.
i cried during the episode, then watched other reactions....and cried on the reshowing....repeatedly, the only show to EVER do that, and only 1 movie has ever done that( cry no matter how many times i see it)

Despite that , she was willing give One for All to a quirkless kid and I don't know if the person's own quirk becomes part of the One for All package when passed on.
